Endothermic and Exothermic Reactions

(0)
Instructions for a circus activity of endothermic/exothermic reactions and a worksheet for students to work out what the terms endothermic and exothermic mean (by telling them the term and getting them to see what happens).

Counting Atoms Worksheet

(0)
A worksheet (and answers) to help students in counting up atoms inside of compounds, including some tricky ones later one to catch students out.

Acids and Bases Micro-scale Chemistry Laminate

(0)
A resource I created to allow the students to carry out some micro-scale chemistry investigating Acids, Bases (alkali) and Indicators. Students have a range of activities to carry out, from trying to create a pH scale using Universal Indicator, to seeing how other indicators change with different pHs (the required indicators for AQA Trilogy). They can also mix different Acids and Bases, seeing what the pH is of the substances before and after mixing. If you haven't carried out micro-scale chemistry before, it's a great opportunity to get students involved with chemistry without all that messy glassware. Laminate these sheets and then simply wipe clean!

Energy in Food Practical Worksheet

This resource would be suitable for KS3 or KS4, looking at the energy contained within fuels (food). It can be used to follow up and calculate specific heat capacity or just to explore how science works, introducing students to chemical energy stored within food. Comes complete with two tables at the bottom for students to cut off (I give 2 sheets per group of 4 students).
