GCSE USA Conflict at Home and Abroad: Civil Rights and Vietnam Bundle

4 Resources
This bundle includes four packs which can be used for revision for the Edexcel GCSE USA: Conflict at Home and Abroad: Civil Rights and Vietnam. All resources have been updated to suit the changes to the 2025 specification. USA Knowledge Organiser This knowledge organiser includes a breakdown of the key information for the unit, ‘cold’ and ‘hot’ questions which I use for homework and back pages filled with example questions, timelines and key words/spellings. There are two different documents included in this purchase, both can be printed as an A4 booklet for students to keep with them for revision/homework: One knowledge organiser is 28 pages long, with ‘cold’ and ‘hot’ questions to test their knowledge - useful if your printing budget is been squeezed! The second knowlegde organiser is 48 pages long and includes Edexcel past paper questions with the exact number of pages provided in the exam to help student practice their exam technique. USA Exam Practice Booklet This document provides exam question guidance, including the structure of the paper, example answers and questions for students to plan and practice with. It is 36 pages in length and can be printed as an A4 or A5 booklet. The document can be modified to suit the writing frames your school uses. USA in a nutshell This two-page document provides a neat overview of the key individuals, events and dates of the unit, I give this to students who are feeling overwhelmed with the amount of content in the specification, as it breaks the entire unit down into a manageable amount to begin revision. As a class we also use this document to highlight key individuals/events/time periods that have not appeared in recent exams to help focus students’ revision. USA Catch up resources Given the sheer amount of content we need to cover, I have created these catch-up sheets which can be place in students books if they miss core content lessons due to absence. These can be easily printed off and placed in a folder, so that when a student is absent you can select the correct lesson and stick it into their book for them to catch up in their own time. I have aimed to put the essential knowledge in however they are easy to edit if you want to add more detail/customise them to how you teach.

I have created a lesson for LGBTQ+ history month focusing on being gay in 16th and 17th Century Europe. The intention is to integrate the themed history month into the curriculum rather than have a tokenistic ‘LGBTQ+ history month’ lesson that has no relevance to the current scheme of learning. This has been designed for Year 8 to appear between their topic on Elizabeth I and the English Civil War, but it could be adapted to suit your context.
