Eduqas Unseen Prose - 'Golden-Brown' Model Essay

(0)
A model essay that I wrote in response to the Eduqas A Level Literature Unseen Prose 2022 past paper. I ask students to highlight for the different assessment objectives and ask them how I could improve (e.g. considering a Marxist reading of the extract). Included in this download: 1x Golden-Brown essay (Word Document) Reviews are always appreciated. Thanks! :)

The resource is designed to encourage deeper thinking and avoid ‘feature spotting.’ Included in the download: 1x Editable document (PPT) It is recommended that you print this resource on a School Laser Printer for the best quality. Reviews are always appreciated. :)

KS3 English Extension Mat

An Extension Mat with English Literature & Language Tasks A list of generic activities to give to students in lesson. The sheet is divided into two: activities to compliment the study of literature, and activities to suit language lessons. Simply laminate and display in your classroom. Students can help themselves (also brilliant to keep them busy during cover lessons!). I hope these are useful! Reviews are always appreciated. :)

Edexcel iGCSE Anthology Poetry Themes Grid

A grid to track the themes in the anthology poems. I developed this for my bottom-set to support with making comparisons, but it could be a helpful revision tool for all abilities. Once we have analysed a poem, I ask students to complete the table as a plenary. The sheets are A3. Included in this download: PDF copies of the anthology grid ( 1 x blank copy & 1 x completed grid). Editable Word documents ( 1 x blank copy & 1 x completed grid). Please let me know if you need assistance with opening/exporting the files. Reviews are always appreciated! :)

Laminate a copy of your personalised cover and stick this on your classroom door. Easily write your current read in a whiteboard marker and update as necessary. Not only does this promote reading to students, it has sparked conversations about books amongst my students with many selecting my recommendations in our library!

An Inspector Calls - 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire' Quiz

(1)
Based on the popular ITV gameshow, this PowerPoint is a fun AFL tool that could be used as a plenary or a starter in a revision lesson. The PowerPoint comes complete with transitions and sound effects for an authentic WWTBAM experience! Suggested tasks to maximise time on the quiz: Starter: ‘What would you spend a million pounds on? Be prepared to share!’ My students love this task! Quiz: For each question, ask students to find quotations to evidence the answers. You could set a timer and turn this into a competition. Extension: Ask students to create their own questions and rank them from easiest to hardest - which one is the million pound question? Plenary: Get students to read their questions aloud and vote to decide which questions were the best/most difficult! This could be used to guide their future revision.
