A 12 week plan for KS3 students to be introduced to and study Fauvism.

Capture your students’ imagination and get them excited to create their own superhero mask. I created this for a Y6 induction day at secondary school but it could easily be used for KS2 classes. Students could use a range of media to complete this task including felt-tip, colouring pencil or even paint and collage.

This resource is a set of 8 lessons through which students will learn about the visual elements of art and produce a double page spread piece of work which develops their core skills in art. The perfect introduction to art at secondary school and introduces key skills and knowledge needed for studying the subject at KS3, 4 and beyond. This resource is a printable double sided worksheet booklet complete with artist case study, starter activity, main task and assessment framework. I created this for an interview lesson. It would also be perfect for an observation lesson. All information needed for the students is present on the resource. Literacy in Art is also a focus with tasks designed to encourage students to write about the artist and their own work. I created this lesson as part of teaching a scheme of work called “Visual Elements.” This lesson focuses on LINE and also introduces students to Picasso’s continuous line drawing collection. These are achievable for students to recreate and also broadens their drawing technique skills. The first slide can be used to display on the board throughout the lesson. It can also be used as an assessment sheet. All you need to do is identify which learning outcome and which success criteria each student has achieved.
