An interactive whiteboard resource exploring oral expression. Pupils describe images to a partner, constuct an oral story from key words and describe a diary entry, based on events in a day. These activities should teach pupils to be confident in describing pictures and events and improve their creative storytelling. They should also help pupils to understand the differences between speaking to an audience and speaking to a friend, in descriptive language and reporting.

An interactive whiteboard resource exploring the story of Rhiannon from the Mabinogion. This lesson is based on the tale of Rhiannon's misfortune from the Welsh folk tale collection, The Mabinogion. The pack includes a version of the story suitable for KS2, a playscript, a wordsearch for revising key words, and a series of backdrops that can be used for performances of the play, or as a stimulus for improvisational drama.

This resource pack is designed to allow pupils to experiment with writing invitations. They will have to think of the appropriate layout and use images to make the invitation aesthetically pleasing. Pupils will be able to pick from a series of different events to design, make and print their invitations. There is a considerable amount of ICT as a key skill in this activity as they will be choosing the appropriate styles, images and editing their choices.

Learn to write and sequence instructions. This activity aims to encourage pupils to think of the need to carry out certain acts in a certain order. They will have to arrange a series of familiar activities into the correct order and will also get the chance to write their own set of instructions if the teacher deems this appropriate. This pack will address the following objectives: to sequence a set of instructions of a familiar activity to write their own set of instructions to think about the reader when creating their instructions

This resource pack allows pupils to find differences and similarities between well-known fairy stories. They look at six scenes and characters from six fairy tales and then put them into the correct storybook. Pupils make a chart that compares characters and incidents in fairy tales. Pupils have the opportunity to make their own fairy tale, adding pictures and text from a large bank of images and props.

The flipcharts may be used in ACTIVstudio2 or ACTIVprimary2. There are 12 flipcharts altogether which follow a similar pattern and highlight the following, ai, ar, au, aw, ay, bb, ce, ch, ck, dd, ea and ee.
