This interactive resource supports the teaching of appraising by concentrating on one of the 8 elements of music - pitch. Through careful and focussed listening they will identify differences in pitch. Visual illustrations are used to show different pitch patterns. The aim is to enable pupils to begin recognising subtle changes in pitch in order for them to appraise pieces of music more accurately.

Introduction: Official Crime Statistics (OCR) revealed how recorded crime appears to be a masculine activity (87% of all recorded crime) Victorians explained women’s conformity with biological theory, sociologists favour socialisation, social control and postmodern concept of ‘transgression’. Crime, delinquency and deviance viewed as a (working-class) male thing, that usually ends as they ‘settled down’. However, the growth of laddette behaviour is challenging the implied links between deviance and masculinity.

These French film resources are used to introduce, analyse and discuss the general topic of film and, in addition, the films on the WJEC GCE A2 syllabus. Students are introduced to general film vocabulary as well as film specific vocabulary. Detailed viewing exercises are designed to exploit the main themes in each film. In addition, the content of each film is used to practise grammatical points, translation skills and essay work adhering to the WJEC mark scheme. The resources promote whole class discussion as a result of individual research and listening and reading tasks.

The purpose of the work is to develop the pupils’ self confidence and as the lessons develop individual work will develop into working with a partner and then into group work. Packaging is a series of Powerpoints that form a Unit of Work that supports the teaching of Design, in particular Packaging. Packaging is aimed at developing the skills needed to understand the process of Packaging and how to design a suitable product that fits the needs of the consumer. The aim is for the pupils to study the process of packaging, use 3D shapes from nets, develop their own ideas and design a cereal packet. This resource uses animations and interactive activities to explain to pupils how sound can travel through all materials not just air and that some materials are better than others at conducting sound. The pupil's understanding can be tested with the follow up investigation into what material insulates sound best. There are downloadable worksheets and investigation notes available with this pack.
