Materials dealing with issues of experiencing and responding to God, Life, Death, Euthanasia, Funeral Rites and the Afterlife with reference to Christianity and Islam. The resources are suitable for whole class teaching to promote thinking skills and discussion. Some of the resources are designed to be used with a digital projector ideally on an interactive whiteboard. Paper based resources are also included with references to recommended WJEC texts.

This lesson explores the concept of homophones - words that sound the same but have different meanings and spellings such as 'their' and 'there'. As these words are phonetically identical, selecting the correct spelling within the context of a sentence can be challenging. This series of interactive activities will ensure that pupils are familiar with a range of these tricky words.

How many ways can the net of a tetrahedron be coloured if rotations aren’t allowed? How many ways can a 3D tetrahedron be coloured using four different colours only once?

This website is designed to provide a collection of virtual tours around Welsh medieval castles and fortified houses in order to increase pupils’ knowledge and understanding of Welsh heritage. The units consider why the castles and houses were built, what it was like to live in them and how they have changed over the years. It is hoped that the website will act as a bridging resource for teachers of Years 6 and 7.

The BTEC Level 2 Extended Certificate covers the key knowledge and practical skills required in sport and leisure. This resource provides teaching and learning materials for units 1, 3, 4, 7 and 18. Evidence for assessment may be generated through a range of activities including practical sessions, coaching sessions, written assignments and Power point presentations. Learners are encouraged to take responsibility for their own learning and will receive feedback on their progress throughout the course. Apostrophes are used for shortened forms of words or to mark possession. Of the two, the use of apostrophes for contraction is most readily understood. As long as pupils securely grasp the idea that the apostrophe takes the place of a missing letter or letters, they are quick to position it correctly. They should be made aware that contracted forms are more appropriate for speech than for writing.

This lesson explores the use of syllables in poetry by investigating haiku and cinquain. The activities allow pupils to learn to count syllables, sort poems into the correct order and identify words with different numbers of syllables. The whiteboard activities will encourage whole class/group discussion, collaboration and participation. The lesson could be used during a unit of work on writing poetry. Use of the whiteboard tools (eg pen, highlighter) would also enable the teacher to address other word-level work associated with nouns/adjectives.
