These units have been designed to guide pupils in elements of Narrative and Genre (Week 1 and 2), Character types (Week 2), Camera conventions (Week 3), Comic conventions and layout (Week 4), Reading Trail (Week 5). There are some associated word files that can be used with the digital resources. The PPTs are interactive. Although these units appear in chronological order, they can be used as stand-alone elements for other aspects of English.

A resource based around different reading resources which explores the conventions of each text type. These activities are developed primarily as reading resources although there are opportunities to develop written work using these text types as model exemplar. The activities are based on Literacy Strategy text types and they contain key questions which encourage pupils to explore language and write more open responses to reading. These resources could be used to meet Key Skills criteria for Communication (Reading)

This pack comprises of a series of 7 Units of work on the theme 'Holidays&' suitable for KS3 and Key Stage 4. They include interactive powerpoint presentations, worksheets and interactive games for practising reading, speaking, listening and writing. Unit 7 includes a series of 11 video clips for further exploitation on the theme. Each section is accompanied by teachers&'; notes with suggestions on how to use each resource.
