This resource is created in the form of a lesson that lasts an hour with outstanding features included. It has been designed to support students who may have no previous experience of undertaking a BTEC qualification and may therefore benefit from support and guidance regarding how to understand an assignment brief as well as hints and tips on how to associate command words with particular criteria. This lesson also supports literacy and the understanding of assessment/command words. The part two of this resource is similar to part one but has a focus on merit and distinction criteria. The resource can also support NQTs or teachers who have not previously taught BTECs. Enjoy!

This presentation has several ways for developing literacy across subjects and is suitable for all ages although tailored to suit secondary and sixth form teaching. I was in charge of developing literacy within my department area when creating this resource; I hope you find this useful. Other tips will be uploaded in the near future.
