Lessons focused on the analysis of how emotions can be shown in poetry.

Aimed at the introduction to the skills for year 7 but can be used for higher years in lower ability sets
Was used for an interview lesson (successfully)

Booklet created for KS3 lower ability (initial class has reading ages of below 10yrs old)
Booklet is an abridged version of the play - scenes have been cut down in places, some scenes skipped but includes a summary of any events missed.
Retrieval questions for each scene studied are included.

Crossing the Line Literacy Scheme of Work
Scheme of work designed to promote reading for pleasure and literacy
Uses the 2023 poetry novel ‘Crossing the Line’ by Tia Fisher.
The novel was chosen for it’s topic of county lines and does cover a number of sensitive issues for students to explore.
Please not the SOW planning document which includes an overview of chapters and what issues may be covered for teachers to b aware of.
This was designed for Year 9 due to the nature of the novel.
Writing a letter to persuade
Lesson aimed at KS3 on writing a persuasive letter.
Topic of the letter is whether the sixth caryatid in the British Museum should be returned to Greece.
Created as an interview lesson (was successful!)

Students who were in the class were a mix of LPA, SEN and EAL.
An Inspector Calls SOW (lower ability)
Scheme of work based on An Inspector Calls for AQA GCSE English Literature
The class this SOW was made for consisted of 15 students who were SEN and early stage 1 EAL.
I have also included some of the translated resources I have available (Ukrainian, Turkish and some Italian)

A 100 minute lesson based on the structure question of Language Paper 1 (AQA)
This was designed as their first lesson to attempt the question
Students range from target grades of 2 to 4 - including SEN studfents, students with ECHP and early stage EAL
Extract has been edited from the original text for the students - Jurassic Park chapter 48 (kitchen scene)
Also included translations of the PPT and extract in Ukrainian, Turkish and Italian
