Algebra Ten Review Fortune Tellers This purchase includes ten different fortune tellers (cootie catchers) each differentiated. The ten algebra topics included are; Simplifying expressions Evaluation/substitution Expansion of term over a bracket Solving 1&2 step equations Mix of four above. Solving Inequalities Factorising Expansion of binomials/quadratics Factorising quadratics a=1 Factorising quadratics a≠1 In each cootie catcher there are eight questions requiring students to use a variety of algebra skills such as solving equations and evaluating expressions through substitution. The corners of the cootie catcher indicate the differentiation which is to four levels (easy, medium and difficult) and the fourth corner is a challenge section. Blank version is also included as you can ask pupils to create their own questions and answers; ideal as a homework task and that’s next lessons’ starter sorted. GCSE 9-1 Maths Exam Bills, Statements, Credit, Debit (Task Cards) This is a set of thirteen different task cards on bills, pay statements, bank statements, credit and debit in which pupils need to find the missing values. This download also includes a free complementary starter activity “9-1 New Spec Bills, Statement Quick Fire Questions”. Pupils complete the ten quick fire questions on slides 3 onwards on mini white boards. We recommend you use this starter to ensure terminology such as debit and credit are understood and methods are discussed with each question. Exact trig values is new to the GCSE 9-1 specification. This resource is to support pupils in providing summary notes or a revision resource. This resource has been updated and there are now four folables in this download; covering different aspects to do e=with exact trigonometric values and trig graphs. The four foldables cover; Exact Trig Values; Pupils use the two triangles (one right angled and one equilateral) to determine the exact trig values using SOH CAH TOA. They will also need to use Pythagoras’ theorem to find the length of the hypotenuse. Trig Graphs: Pupils are required to recall and sketch the graphs of sin, cos and tan from -360° to 360° on the given axis. Exact Trig Values >90°; pupils use the exact trip values from the two triangles and use to calculate carefully chosen trig values e.g. sin 210°. Using Exact Trig Values; pupils use the trig values to complete sums of different trig values (therefore pupils need to be able to add/subtract fractions).
