Assessment: At the end of lesson 9 pupils would be given an assessed homework that will assess what they know and don't know using past paper questions.
Pupils will also complete a test that will help you to determine what they need to develop further on.

WJEC 2016 SPEC- Theme 1- RIVERS TEST WITH FULL DETAILED MARKSCHEME
A test that assesses pupils understanding of the river’s section of THEME 1. This test uses past exam questions from WJEC and AQA (because the question format is fairly similar) exam boards.
The test also comes with a detailed mark scheme that looks very similar to a real WJEC mark scheme.

This lesson is the seventh lesson of the river's section of Theme 1 of the new WJEC Geography GCSE course.
This lesson pack includes:
--> A powerpoint that goes through different river channel and drainage basin management and conflicting views of this scheme (with EXAMPLES!!)
-->Information cards on different schemes that rivers can be managed- this is used for the marketplace activity.

WJEC 2016 SPEC- Theme 1- RIVERS- Lesson 6 Floods
This lesson is the sixth lesson of the river's section of Theme 1 of the new WJEC Geography GCSE course.
This lesson pack includes:
--> A powerpoint that goes through what flooding is, the causes of flooding and the impacts of flooding on a named location.
-->Worksheet to support pupils on a task which looks at the impacts of flooding on Bangladesh- it also contains exam-style questions to get pupils thinking about how they could apply their knowledge to an exam question.

Direct and Inverse Proportion GCSE HIGHER (WHOLE 2 LESSONS)
This pack contains a PPT which covers exam practise starters, examples for pupils to visually see how to answer direct and inverse proportion questions, plenaries so pupils are able to reflect on their own learning and learning of others in the class.
Lesson 1: Direct proportion- contains a worksheet (WITH ANSWERS!!) and an extension sheet that covers common past paper questions (WITH ANSWERS!!) This lesson is covered from slide 1 to 6.
Lesson 2: Inverse proportion- contains a worksheet with a range of questions that pupils could expect in their exams (This also contains ANSWERS) This lesson is covered from slide 7 to 12.

WJEC/ Eduqas 2016 SPEC- Theme 2- Lesson 1- What links rural and urban places together? An overview
This lesson is the first lesson in the second theme of the new WJEC/ Eduqas 2016 specification for geography. This lesson covered a basic overview of what vocabulary they need to know for the 2.1 key question (this is done as a starter), looks at sparsely populated areas and densely populated areas in Wales and looks migration with push and pull factors (helps pupils understand the basic link between urban and rural area).
Pupils summarise their knowledge into an exam question that covers both a skills-based question and a suggest question.

This lesson is the third lesson in the fifth theme of the new WJEC/ WJEC Eduqas 2016 specification for geography.
This lesson covers extreme weather (Global distribution of cyclones and droughts, Global Circulation and the ITCZ). The powerpoint covers all the information that the pupils need and all tasks are on the powerpoint.

WJEC/ Eduqas 2016 SPEC- Theme 2- Lesson 10- Sustainable Urban- Rural Communities
This is the tenth lesson in the second theme of the new WJEC/ Eduqas 2016 specification for geography.
This lesson looks at how we create sustainable communities/ the different factors that help us to create one. Students also look at what Egan’s wheel is and how it is used to help us to create a sustainable community. Students also look at BedZED as our case study of a sustainable community (this is done as a research/ ICT task).

WJEC/ Eduqas 2016 SPEC- Theme 2- Lesson 9-The Housing Crisis
This lesson is the ninth lesson in the second theme of the new WJEC/ Eduqas 2016 specification for geography.
This lesson looks at why we have a housing crisis and what solutions there are to slow down the crisis. One of these solutions are garden cities in which we look in detail and look at Plasdwr as our garden city. This case study will also form part of the greenfield development case study. Exam practise on “To what extent” and “How far do you agree?” questions is done throughout to help pupils practise a really hard exam question type.

WJEC/ Eduqas 2016 SPEC- Theme 2- Lesson 8-UK Migration and Ageing Population
This lesson is the eighth lesson in the second theme of the new WJEC/ Eduqas 2016 specification for geography.
This lesson looks at the reasons for migration occuring witin the UK but also looking at the reasons and consequences of an ageing populations. Exam Practise throughout helps pupils understand how what they had learnt may be asked in the exam.

WJEC/ WJEC Eduqas 2016 SPEC- Theme 5- Lesson 11 and 12- The Savannah Grasslands
These are the 11th and 12th lessons in the fifth theme of the new WJEC/ WJEC Eduqas 2016 specification for geography.
Lesson 11 looks at the Savannah Grassland characteristics- climate, vegetation and why they are found where they are found. (This lesson is similar to lesson 9)
Lesson 12 looks at the different processes that operate in the Savannah. The worksheet for lesson 12 helps pupils to summarise what they have covered over the 2 lessons.
