A really interactive session on Eye Witness Testimony with lots of activities and videos throughout the session. Includes having the students become “real” eye witnesses as well. Designed for year 10/year 11 students as a taster for A level Psychology - could really be used with any exam board but was made with AQA in mind. All instructions are in the notes sections of the ppt slides. Adaptable in length - can last anywhere from 30 mins - 60 mins really depending on how many of the activities are done in the session.

For AQA Psychology. Full lesson and homework exam questions for the working model of memory, which takes me 1 hour 30 mins - 2 hours to complete. It covers all the key elements on the ppt and included is a notes sheet which the students complete as we work through the lesson to save on note taking. Includes a couple of resources I use on open evenings for promoting Psychology. Serial Killer or Psychologist - I made these into cards with a photo on the front and descroption of who the person is on the back them laminated them. The idea is that the students have to sort the cards into two piles based on appearance alone. I then discuss things like lombroso theory, nature nuture of offending, biological causes (because if there are similarities in faces of criminals it could mean similarities in DNA etc), and offender profiling with them. True or false statements - I put these in a jar and they pull out one and we discuss it. A display poster of the topics we cover Interesting Conditions - just some more unusual conditions that can be discussed A mirror task shapes - if you buy a couple of small mirrors (the small mirror tiles work well from Ikea) then the students have to do the mirror task done by HM. Draw a line in the small 1cm gap between the lines of the shapes by only looking in the mirror. I do this by blocking their vision to their hand using another sheet of paper (or can use a card board box cut out.

Resources for two-three lessons on the cognitive approach, includes vidoes, worksheets, activities and powerpoint. Students have a notes sheet that they complete while going through the ppt. 1. Mental processes, including inferences and schema’s. This is packed with fun activities for students to try out to show them their mental processing (including loads of videos). 2. This is a full lesson resource for case studies and content analysis for AQA Psychology. It covers the description and strengths and weaknesses. It has an activity to carry out a quantitative content analysis on some made up lonely hearts ads. They can do an inter-rater check as well to ensure consistency between two observers. It includes a ppt and a notes sheet with activities throughout to check learning. The students complete the notes sheet as we work through the ppt so they have some bits to fill in and activities to complete.

Another idea - You could delete more text off the student version and they could complete it all themselves for homework before you go through it. I have also included a set of exam questions on psychopathology and some blank boxed for short plans for essays on the topics for second years. This is a full lesson including powerpoint, booklet for note taking and worksheet activities for A2 Biological Rhythms in the Biopsychology part of the course. It includes Circadian, Infradian and Ultradian Rhythms as well as Endogenous Pacemakers and Exogenous Zeitgebers. The powerpoint is over 40 slides long and includes numerous links to video clips, a longer documentary. I give the students a copy of the notes booklet and they complete this as we go through the ppt - saves time on too much note taking. To finish off there are some summary tasks: A crossword and a card sort summary task on biological rhythms. It will last approximately 3-4 hours of teaching. It includes a powerpoint presentation, with notes sheet (the students use this to take notes from the ppt, rather than note into book/paper). Full lesson resources for a challenging part of research methods - Features of science. There is a detailed 40 slide powerpoint and activities included. Activities: -An essay plan structure to help students plan this as an essay -A table activity which is good for revision -A notes sheet - I get students to fill this is out while I go through the powerpoint so they aren’t taking too many notes.

A couple revision lessons on the approaches - would take me at least 2-3 hours probably to cover this as its a 66 slide ppt with 10 documents in total. Couldlast even more if you get them to try out some of the exam questions and do all the worksheets. PPT: Has short summaries of each of the approaches and then a series of exam questions, on each approach, to show key exam technique, advice for answering and sometimes sample answers. Included is a student version with blanks to fill in, or to use to test their knowledge before going over each topic. A document that examines what questions have been asked on previous topics before on AQA Psychology papers (Year 2 ones only). It plots how many marks have been asked on each sub-topic and then colour codes the topics by how likely there is to be an exam question on them in the next exam: Red - less likely Green - Likely Disclaimer: AQA does not follow a pattern with exam questions and there is every chance even the “red coded” areas can be asked. This is purely for teachers to use to devise mocks etc and I wouldn’t advise giving this to students.
