This is a set of the Attachment Key Terms for the Year 1 AQA A level Psychology course. BRILLIANT FOR REVISION ACTIVITIES. I have included 6 suggestions (and instructions) for how the cards can be used.
My advice is if you have multiple sets of the same cards print each set on a different colour card so if you find a random word around your room you can quickly identify which set it belongs to!
Activity explanations include:
Articulate
Pictionary
Key word hunt

Need an unseen mock for your students?! This is a complete made up paper 2 mock for the new spec 2015 AQA Psychology.
The questions for Approaches and Biopsychology have been made up so there is no mark scheme but there are sample answers and a ppt to go through after the mock to demonstrate key errors. The Research methods questions were adapted from an old AQA question.
Revision carousel activity independent lesson on Biopsychology. I print out the instructions for each station and then print the worksheets. I then instruct the students to work their around the room from station to station completing the activities. They should start with the area they are least confident with.
Activities are mostly summary tables but also includes playdough and making a localisation brain hat (link is here and on ppt for the brain resources - http://ellenjmchenry.com/brain-hemisphere-hat/)
Also available separately is a summary ppt covering the whole biopsychology module.
A set of blank summary revision sheets for students to complete on whole forensic topic.
Also included is some exam questions and mark schemes for the forensic module for students to use for revision. They are mostly old AQA questions from before the change to linear.
Also selling some other revision resources and revision powerpoint for Forensic and other A2 topics like Schizophrenia.
Includes a couple of resources I use on open evenings for promoting Psychology.
Serial Killer or Psychologist - I made these into cards with a photo on the front and descroption of who the person is on the back them laminated them. The idea is that the students have to sort the cards into two piles based on appearance alone. I then discuss things like lombroso theory, nature nuture of offending, biological causes (because if there are similarities in faces of criminals it could mean similarities in DNA etc), and offender profiling with them.
True or false statements - I put these in a jar and they pull out one and we discuss it.
A display poster of the topics we cover
Interesting Conditions - just some more unusual conditions that can be discussed
A mirror task shapes - if you buy a couple of small mirrors (the small mirror tiles work well from Ikea) then the students have to do the mirror task done by HM. Draw a line in the small 1cm gap between the lines of the shapes by only looking in the mirror. I do this by blocking their vision to their hand using another sheet of paper (or can use a card board box cut out.
Made for AQAPsychology A-level but could be easily adapted for other boards. This is a presentation I work through with my students while they are revising research methods - it includes over 60 slides (some with content and some with indications of a task to complete).
I usually teach short sections of research methods and then get them to complete the activities in the corresponding booklet.
This took me 3-4 lessons of 90 minutes each to complete it all but some could be set for homework.
This includes a sample essay on designing research and a summary table for features of science which are areas students often struggle with.
The corresponding booklet can be found here:

This is based on an old game called You Say We Pay or Hot Seat.
The class is split into 2 or more teams. One member from one team comes to the front and sits in the “hot seat” with their back to the board. Their team mates have to describe the key term to the person in the “hot seat”. That team then has 1 minute to get as many words as they can. Then someone from the other team sits at the front and they have to get as many words as they can.
The resources included are:
A set of key terms covering the whole of the AQA Psychology RM course (over 100 words)
Two sets of the same key terms (over 150) including random Christmas words mixed in, as a fun game before Xmas holidays. I have included two sets of these same words, so it could be played twice with the same group as the words are in a different order.
An alternative way to use it:
Print the key terms instead and then get a student to describe as many as they can to the team to guess instead.
Or use them to play pictionary with the students
Includes powerpoint and activities for Types of Experiments lesson.
It includes Table for students (blank and partially filled in)
Sample exam questions and a simplified mark scheme for peer assessment
Identifying type of experiment
Also uploaded experimental designs full lesson
This is a set of approx. 80 revision cards with questions and answers for students studying AQA Biospychology (year 1 and year 2 content). It includes the first year biopsychology cards from the AS approaches and biopsychology revision cards and then new ones added for second year content.
They can be used independently or in pairs, alternating answering and asking questions. They should be printed double sided or stuck onto the back of each other.
I have uploaded sets for the all of the first year modules as well (and some other second year modules).
A full lesson (1 hr 30-2 hrs) on Types of Observations for AQA Psychology. This includes:
-A powerpoint which outlines types of observations, evaluation of observations, sampling procedures, behavioural categories and inter-rater reliability.
-A summary table
-Activities on observations
-Exam Questions on Observations
-Ideas for designing their own observation
Powerpoint and evaluation card sort/match task for Localisation Lesson. Made for year 2 biopsychology topic.
Powerpoint includes lots of video links and a kahoot quiz link for Localisation of Function.
This is a full lesson resource for case studies and content analysis for AQA Psychology. It covers the description and strengths and weaknesses. It has an activity to carry out a quantitative content analysis on some made up lonely hearts ads. They can do an inter-rater check as well to ensure consistency between two observers.
It includes a ppt and a notes sheet with activities throughout to check learning. The students complete
the notes sheet as we work through the ppt so they have some bits to fill in and activities to complete.
This is a set of 60 revision cards for the ISSUES & DEBATES Topic. They were designed for AQA new spec (2015). They use examples from year 1 and 2 (topics including forensic, schizophrenia & gender). Some have evaluation points on using P.E.E structure (Point, Example, Explain, However)
They have questions on one side and answers on the back - so perfect for independent revision or testing in pairs. They need to be printed DOUBLE SIDED and cut up. Print on different colour paper for each set to help you keep each set separate.
I also have sets for both first year and second year topics and they can bought as a bundle for a discount.
This includes a powerpoint detailing notes for experimental designs. I usually only get them to take notes on the description of each design and then they do the card sort to get the evaluation for each.
I use the experiment resources to demonstrate the differences in the designs and also to get them thinking about the strengths and weaknesses. Words vs Pictures for repeated measures and then the long and short words memory test for independent groups (instructions on ppt and in notes under ppt slides).
2 sets of exam questions included - one can be for the lesson and one for homework. These assume some prior lessons have been completed on variables, pilot studies and types of experiments.
Also uploaded my types of experiments lesson
