Gas Exchange & Breathing System (Lesson 2 - Chapter 2) Activate 1

I used this lesson for an observation and received outstanding in all categories. It will require flipped learning. Select approximately 5 high achieving students a week in advance to research the different parts of the breathing system, the role/function of each part & gas exchange/the journey of an oxygen molecule. It may be worth photocopying the relevant sections of the textbook so that they understand the level of detail needed. Set the students the task to produce a short powerpoint OR an information poster on large sugar paper (I got them to produce a poster on A2 sugar paper) - they will use this to teach in the lesson. The powerpoint provided includes graded success criteria, graded tasks, AfL opportunities and an activity that allows students to apply their knowledge by playing the role of doctor. I have also provided a worksheet for the students being taught to complete. Suitable for KS3. Direct link to lesson 2, chapter 2, Activate 1. The bonus question at the end is aimed at the student teachers/lead learners to stretch & challenge.
