I'm a Secondary English and Drama teacher, Head of House and Multilingual Learner Lead based in the Channel Islands. I have 12 years of teaching experience and am currently studying for a Masters in Education. My resources span across all of these areas and are editable, dyslexia friendly (I'm dyslexic myself!) and versatile enough to be tailored to the needs of students, with varying levels of scaffolding and opportunity for independent work. If you purchase, please do leave a review! :)

Christmas Quiz

(0)
A Christmas quiz I originally used for a family quiz night but can easily be adapted and used for school (I’ll be doing so this year!). Consists of: Picture Round - Christmas Dingbats (My students did great with these but my adult family members struggled - use your judgement for this one!) *** Round 1** - Christmas Trivia Round 2 - Elf Identity Parade Round 3 - General Knowledge 2022** (this is 2022 specific but can be changed/adapted easily enough!)** **Comedy Interlude ** *** Round 4** - Complete the Christmas Lyrics *** Round 5** - Intros Round: Christmas Number Ones (some of these will need changing for younger participants! Maybe just use the Christmas ones?) *** Round 6 - Christmas Around the World* (Merry Christmas in 12 different languages; what language is it?)* All videos are embedded and links included if needed. Answers are also at the end with animations. Check the ‘Notes’ section of each slide for comments/ideas on acceptable answers, what is worth a half point, etc. A choice of tie breakers also added at the end.

English Language Paper 1 Booklet: Scrooge

(0)
Independent work booklet designed to guide students step by step through Edexcel English Language Paper 1 Reading Section. The focus of the booklet is the first description of Scrooge from A Christmas Carol and the booklet includes model paragraphs, example quotes and exam criteria that can be used my teachers to mark draft answers with an opportunity for a DIRT task on AO2 and AO4. I’ve used this as half term homework, a lesson resource, for private tutoring and as cover work over the years! Due to formatting, the cover and extract are separate documents so all will need to be printed for the full booklet.

Macbeth Quote Quest Revision game

Macbeth Quote Quest Revision game

(0)
Revision game in which students work their way through key locations from the play to escape Macbeth. In order to progress from one location to the next, students must complete a quote card (these can be ordered in any way you wish, i.e, at random, in terms of difficulty, chronologically, etc). Once all quote cards are complete and the student/s have reached the crown, prizes can be given and cards can be collated into revision notes. I print mine as A5 cards that are then strung together to create flashcards for revision. Alternatively, they can be turned into posters, booklets, folders, etc. Download includes a PowerPoint with the instructions and game board and a separate document with the quote cards. These can also be downloaded separately in my TES shop and used as worksheets if desired!

Edexcel GCSE Language Paper 2: Coronavirus and School Closure

(0)
A mock exam paper based on articles about differing views on school closures due to Coronavirus in 2020. Designed as a booklet, so contains both articles (extracts from larger articles found on The Guardian website - links are below), all questions for Section A and B and space for students to write their responses. Can be used as a mock exam, lesson resource, cover or homework task. Note: I do not own or claim to own anything within the articles used in this paper. I simply wrote the exam questions based on them and compiled the booklet. The fee is for that part of the exam paper. I included the extracts on this upload purely so that line numbers can match up to the ones mentioned in the questions! I used to have the original links to the full articles in this description but unfortunately they have now been removed due to new guidelines.

A Christmas Carol: Design a Ghost Worksheet

(0)
One of my favourite resources/lessons to use in my own classroom, now available for less than the price of a Costa Coffee! A worksheet designed to help students plan/design their own ghost for the story of A Christmas Carol. Good prep for a creative writing exercise. I’ve found it owes itself quite well to Cultural Capital and current events; last year I had a student create a ghost based on Greta Thunberg that came to warn people about the effects of global warming, etc. Best printed on A3. Great for independent work, homework, cover, etc. Can be developed over the course of a few lessons if you choose. We’ve even adapted it into a drama task at the end to explore how they would interact with Scrooge!
