Pupils have difficulty with the pronunciation of numbers because there are so many ways of pronouncing them, depending on whether they are used on their own, before a consonant or before a vowel. This resource aims to help. A no-frills PDF shows the different ways they can be pronounced, and a sound file gives a demonstration. The second sound file shows how avoir and être are pronounced. (Answer is ronce)

It consists of a timed Hotpot activity where players have to identify long and short ‘e’. A link at the top of the page takes them to a website where rules of pronunciation are explained.
