10 Printable Christmas-themed interactive code-breaking calculation challenge sheets that involve a fun way of using their answers to work out a code word that relates to Christmas in some way. Watch the video to see how the code works.
The pack includes 10 different code sheets:
Addition (4 digits) - Code word is presents
Division (2 digits divided by 1 digit) - Code word is chimney
Division (4 digits divided by 1 digit) - Code word is carols
Division (4 digits divided by 2 digits) - Code word is wreath
Multiplication (2 digits x 2 digits) - Code word is Santa
Multiplication (3 digits x 2 digits) - Code word is reindeer
Multiplication (3 digits x 2 digits) - Code words are wise men
Multiplication (4 digits x 2 digits) - Code word is stocking
Subtraction (4 digits - 3 digits and 4 digits - 4 digits) - Code word is sleigh

When the children work out the answer, they write the digits of the answers in cells. These digits are then added together to provide a total which in turn can be used to reveal a letter. It works really well for self-regulation of answers as they know if they aren’t getting letters that look like they will form words, they must have gone wrong somehow. With the answer sheet, you can also help them with individual questions easily.
Each sheet is interactive. They allow you to modify the title to personalise it, click on individual cells to reveal hints and clues and print the question sheet or answer sheet easily.
The codes are great or sharing amongst groups or working individually.
In the preview image, the questions have been blurred but are obviously unblurred in the paid versions.
This bundle includes 50 full tests (with 36 questions) to practice with as well as 100 daily arithmetic practices (with ten questions each) for your class. Great for early morning or starters. The daily practices provide the ability to track the children’s confidence in different areas.
The full tests look just like the real things and the composition of questions are based on the real thing too.
With both the full tests and the daliy practices, there are three different sizes for each test:
All the questions on a page (or two on a page for the daily practices).
A condensed version when compared to the real tests to save paper but still have that 'real test feel’
A full-sized arithmetic test
For the daily practices, the objectives and question types from genuine arithmetic tests have been spread out across sets of ten tests. Ensuring both variety and repetition.
With the daily practices, each question fits in an area:
Written Multiplication
Written Division
Written Addition
Written Subtraction
Mental Multiplication
Mental Division
Mental Addition
Mental Subtraction
Multiply/Divide by 10/100/1000
Add Fractions
Subtract Fractions
Multiply Fractions
Divide Fractions

Order of Operations
Percentages
For the majority of areas, three levels of questions have been provided. Each test comes with a few questions from each challenge level so some questions are accessible to everyone whilst others will provide a challenge to your most able. For example, with ‘Written Multiplication’, Level 1 includes two digits x one digit or three digits x one digit, Level 2 includes three digits x two digits and four digits x four digits and Level 3 includes multiplying whole numbers by decimals.
Not only that but assessment tracking has also been provided for the daily practices. Each day, the children or you can record on the QLA tracking sheet. This allows you to quickly identify gaps and support children. The sheet allows for identification of what the level of the question was that they struggled with. Great for KS2 SATs preparation and revision. Instructions are provided on how to do this.
