Hello, my name is Rhys and this year marks my 10th year in education. I am an English teacher who very much enjoys the challenge of nurturing a students' independence and love of subject, even if they put up a bit of a fight to begin with! I hope the resources help to save you some time.

KS4 Macbeth (SOW)

My first public SOW (2018) I have put this together in an effort to provide either a structured lesson or alternatively an array of teaching material to select from when designing your own lesson. The PPT/SOW is divided by Acts. This was my first draft of teaching the SOW so there may be gaps or areas I would naturally develop second time around. Any feedback on such is much appreciated. Hope this helps! Rhys

Macbeth - 40 Exam Questions Worksheet

Attached is a resource I use when working with students on their long term revision for Macbeth. There are examples of 40 possible questions. Students are taught how to plan and then use time at home to find references that would support their writing. I find that sometimes the art of planning quickly is overlooked and so this resource has proved helpful both in the classroom and when providing students revision tools. Hope it helps, Rhys

Any reviews and feedback are very welcome! A series of lessons that take students through Ozymandias, London, The Prelude and My Last Duchess. The scheme takes the approach of ‘meaning, message, method’ in an attempt to move students away from copying annotations to owning their annotations, forming their own ideas and connecting the dots themselves!

Attached is a template for whole class feedback that I use when frequently marking students’ writing. I simply read their work (often pacing the kitchen) and issue the students with two activities from the list that would most improve their work and support progress. At the bottom is an activity to solve the ever present issue of those students who missed the assignment and leave you in limbo! Hope it helps, Rhys
