Content PowerPoint Presentation - The slides are numbers 0 to 10 and then from 10 to 0 for counting back. Also on the slides are number tracks/lines and a robin that you can click and drag to demonstrate hopping back and forth for 1 more/1 less. Whole class plenary. Detailed Lesson Plan - includes lesson starter (using before/after vocabulary), Main activity and lesson objectives and plenary. Snowman Flash cards/displays for washing line activity Extra number tracks and robin tag for activity work Santa’s List of Good Children for use with the worksheets Differentiated worksheets Activity 1 - 1 more/1 less up to 5 - Children add or cross out the snowman’s buttons and write the number in the space provided. Practical extension work - using number track and robin to jump to/fro. Activity 2 - 1 more up to 10 and then extends up to 20 - Children choose a name from Santa’s Good Children List to add 1 more to the various lists on the worksheets and then write the answer. Extension - Add 2 names to the list to make 2 more and write the answer in the space provided. Activity 3 - 1 less up to 10 ad then extends up to 20. This time children cross off children on the list so that it is 1 less and write the answer in the space provided. Extension to 2 less - Children cross off 2 children’s name and then write the answer. It’s a fun activity as children can read the names on Santa’s list and choose who they want on their list or they can cross off who they don’t want on their worksheet list. This resource is on New Zealand currency - 10c, 20c, 50c, $1.00 and $2.00 coins Aimed at: Keystage 1/2 The worksheets are in colour and black and white. WITH ANSWER SHEETS Each of the four worksheets contain a variety of tasks for students to complete on the topic of buying school stationery. Worksheet 1 - Students look at the pictures and price of each item and then work out how much two items of school supplies cost. Two questions at the bottom: Which student spent the most? Which student spent the least amount of money? Worksheet 2 - This worksheet is similar to the above except students are working out what 3 items of school stationery cost. Worksheet 3 - Students answer 6 questions about the items, e.g. Which item is the most expensive? How much less does the sharpener cost than the ruler? etc. The next task is to write the new price for each item which has risen by 10 cents. Worksheet 4 - The first task is to write the new price of the items which have risen by 30 cents. Second task - to add up 3 items of school supplies at the new price. Worksheet 5 - Sale Now On! - Students reduce the price of each item by 20 cents. This resource contains a variety of 3D shape activities. <strong>Content and description</strong> 3-D Shape Mat in colour and b/w. (x2) and 3-D Properties Information Sheet The mat can be used for the 3D challenge quiz. There are 8 questions to be answered. Differentiated 3D Shapes Search and Colour (x3). Children colour the shapes using the colour key. Shapes Match Up and Cut/paste Sorting Shapes + Answer Sheets. (a) Children draw lines from the shape to the real objects and then label the shapes. (b) This is a shape sort task – Children cut out the objects on worksheet 2 and then sort and glue into the correct column on worksheet 1. Differentiated 3D Shapes – What Am I? Activities (Colour & b/w) Four clipart children on each worksheet. Each clipart child describes the 3-D shape properties and real object. The task is to write the name of the shape. Labelling 3D Shape Pictures (x1) and Answer Sheet. There are four 3D objects in colour and black & white on the worksheet. Children label the objects with the 3-D shape used. This resource relates to statistics on the topic of dot plots. It introduces dot plots on PowerPoint (12 Slides). The presentation demonstrates how the data was collected, rearranging data in numerical order, and presenting the data on a frequency table. Using the information on the frequency table, students are shown how to create a dot plot/line plot via Slide Show animation. Two detailed examples are shown. Content: • PowerPoint Presentation (12 Slides) • 1 Flexible Lesson Plan (1- 2 hrs) • 2 Sets of worksheets (4pgs) • 1 ready-made project sheet for students to survey their table group • 1 project sheet example Flexible Lesson Plan (4 pgs) The plan includes a lesson starter on adding two-digit numbers together. The method is adding the tens numbers first and then counting on the ones for quick mental addition. (If you wish, you can choose your own mental starters). Also includes lesson objectives, main activities on dot plots and recap session. Presentation slides are referred to and there are suggested questions you might want to ask your students. PowerPoint Presentation The presentation explains a dot plot and then looks at two examples from capturing the raw data, presenting them in frequency tables, and then creating dot plots.
