I find this resource very useful, especially in smaller group settings. There are so many onset and rime word families. I have used the easier ones in the presentation. To make this resource flexible and ‘hands-on’, I have made an onset card which you can laminate. Once I laminated the card, I dabbed the letters with a dry erase pen on the onsets I wanted children to use to make onset and rime families. So there is an opportunity to differentiate the tasks. I have also made a hexagon shape rime card. Just laminate and write the rime you want the children to use together with the Onset Card. You can differentiate the activities by choosing the rimes you want the more advance groups to use and easier rimes for the groups that find blending onset and rime challenging. A lovely shamrock cut and paste puzzle activity counting 1 to 5 puzzle. You can prepare the activity by cutting out the puzzles and having the children sort through to count and match the number of shamrocks to the correct number or for the more able number words and number. Alternatively, to improve their fine motor skills, place the sheets of paper on their tables and get the children to cut out and match the two sides of the puzzles. This is a reading comprehension for early readers relating to Valentine’s Day. The text contains high frequency words and decodable words. There are 4 questions and a sheet of general questions for the teacher/educator. Ideal for guided reading and for more able early readers who are confident in decoding words and know some of their high frequency words. Detailed Teacher’s Notes included. The teacher’s reading comprehension sheet is in colour and the duplicate sheet is in black and white for the children to follow with their fingers what the teacher is reading. As a whole group activity or individual work, children answer the questions. The general question sheet is for teachers to ask questions and for children to say the answers aloud. **Learning Aim: ** Listening and speaking activity relating to the passage. Can children follow words with their finger? Can they find the evidence in the story? Can they rhyme words? Can they find certains words in the text? I have uploaded two sets of upper case/capital letters A to Z to be printed onto card paper and laminate. A lovely addition to your Alphabet/Phonic station. Aimed at EYFS/Year 1, EFL/ESL students Children practise moulding dough on top of the letters with dough/ plasticine. Children practise writing inside the letters with different colour drywipe pens. Time-saving phonics resource for 15 to 30 mins phonics input. This is a follow on from Phase Two: Sets 1 to 5 to complete the alphabet letters and sounds. Whole class teaching in PowerPoint. Each slide can be printed off and taught in group sessions. Resources can be used in letter and sound revision to improve reading for blending and segmentation. - Worksheet exercises. - Very short reading texts plus tasks. - Word Search

The worksheets show multiplication as sets using the words lots of and the times X symbol. My ideas for creating these worksheets were inspired by Mathematics Explained for Primary Teachers.

After looking at and discussing real instruments, the three worksheets involve sorting different musical instruments e.g. blowing, bang/hit, shake or pluck and then labelling the same. They can be adapted for differentiation.

The teaching aids can be printed off and laminated. The worksheets on multiplication sums can be differentiated for the various abilities in class. An extension sheet for the more able can be adapted to suit particular needs. Children are given the opportunity to see how multiplication looks and can work them out for themselves.

There is some basic information about the Crimean War - opportunity for children to research more and how it prompted two pioneering nurses to go to the Crimea to use their nursing skills. Please adapt Information Sheet to suit needs of pupils to complete the missing information in Worksheet 1. Worksheet 2 is Cross-curricula - Geography link - See how many countries the chn can label by comparing Worksheet 2 with labelled map of the world. Literacy link - children choose adjectives to describe the nurses and write sentence using 'because'.

This resource contains sentences for dictation on PowerPoint. Also well being suitable for Keystage, all the dictated texts can be used in EFL/ESL and ESOL classes. There is also an audio recording of the text. You can play the recording of text 18 or print off the text and read it aloud to the children. After the dictation, outlined in Teacher’s Notes, display the text on PowerPoint for students to self-correct in a different colour pencil.
