Si clauses/Spanish Conditional sentences: PowerPoint Presentation (in English)

Si clauses/Spanish Conditional sentences: PowerPoint Presentation (in English)

(0)
Learning how to use si clauses is a great way for students to provide some interesting color to their spoken and written work. It shows the ability to use tenses in combination and to use tenses that would be difficult to fluently incorporate otherwise. They are a fantastic way for students to achieve bonus marks by providing that “wow” factor. This Spanish grammar PowerPoint Presentation helps students understand how to use si clauses/conditional sentences, also known as the first conditional, second conditional, and third conditional. Note for teachers This resource is designed for students who are already familiar with the present, conditional, imperative, future, imperfect subjunctive and pluperfect subjunctive (past perfect subjunctive) tenses required to create these conditional sentences. However, a brief recap is provided on how to form the imperfect subjunctive and also the pluperfect subjunctive/past perfect subjunctive. Each one of the si clauses is treated separately, so you can use one or some of the si clauses if they are not all appropriate for the level you are teaching. What does this grammar PowerPoint include? Overview of si clauses and how they work. Notes on how to use (1) si + present, present, (2) si + present, future, (3) si + present, imperative, (4) si + imperfect subjunctive, conditional, and (5) si + pluperfect subjunctive, pluperfect subjunctive. Grammar exercises for each of the five different types of si clauses. Answers for exercises. There are some exercises where students can create their own answers, so there are no set answers provided for those activities. How to use this Spanish grammar resource This PowerPoint can be used either either as a stand-alone resource or alongside the printable worksheets on Si clauses: Spanish grammar practice. The content is almost identical, but the worksheets are a perfect way for students to keep their own copy of the explanations and have a place for trying the exercises for themselves. Students should be able to use dictionaries (either paper or online) to look up any vocabulary they need as the resource is focusing on grammar practice, not vocabulary-building. Thank you for taking the time to look at this resource. To keep up-to-date with our latest resources and posts, please follow Sail Through Spanish on Instagram. SailThroughSpanishSailThroughSpanish

Réquiem por un campesino español: A Glossary

(0)
This** Spanish-English Glossary** of Réquiem por un campesino español helps students to understand the text as they read it. The Glossary first lists the words in the order that they appear in the text (without repeating them). This means it can be used with any edition. It then lists the words** in alphabetical order** for when students are dipping in and out of the book. This Glossary is 19 pages in all. It provides a translation that is relevant to the text. Intermediate-level words are omitted as they are likely to be known already to students. Some words that do not have a straightforward translation are omitted from the glossary, but every attempt has been made to provide a translation where possible. This resource will bring relief to students who find it very frustrating to look up unknown words in a dictionary. The Glossary will massively reduce the amount of time it takes to look up words and will help students stay motivated. For more resources on this Spanish novel, have a look at my in-depth PowerPoint Presentation and my fun Escape Room Activity. For an understanding of the context of the Spanish Civil War and the events leading up to it, my Summary of the Spanish Civil War will help students enormously.
