This resource is child-initiated. It was created for children who were struggling to use quotation marks and their ideas and feedback were used to create the worksheets.
There are 2 worksheets - 1 is a football-themed worksheet and 1 is a rainbow-themed worksheet. There is a PDF file and a Word document for each worksheet, making it easy to adapt and make any changes if needed.
How to use the resource:
Where the rainbow/football goal starts is where the speech opens and where the rainbow/football goal ends is where the speech finishes.
It can encourage deeper thinking in an engaging, different, and fun way to learn.
The worksheet is easy to print off and can be adapted if needed. It is suitable to be used in key stages 1 and 2, dependent on the ability of the depending on.
Children can learn letters in a fun way! These worksheets are inventive and inspiring for children to make their way through the alphabet. Each sheet sports a different letter - literally from A to Z. Children can identify the key letter by highlighting it – both upper and lower case letters. Students are asked to distinguish the upper case from the lower case by use of highlighting.
These letter recognition worksheets allow the teacher to assess the student’s knowledge of the alphabetic letters. The worksheets can be used again in your classroom or at home.
These worksheets are suitable for foundation-stage children. They can also be used for EAL children or children with SEND learning needs building recognition and confidence with the alphabet.
Sheets can be used for homework, an extended in-class activity, or a morning starting activity.
There is a Word document so that the worksheets can be easily adapted if required and a PDF document for easy printing.

In this bundle, there is a PowerPoint with the alternative spelling patterns for the letter ‘U’. With a sentence for the children.
There are two worksheets. The first worksheet is where the children read the different words with alternative spelling patterns. This can be done individually or with a partner. The second worksheet has a sentence on it (same as the PowerPoint). Children can practice reading the sentence and then they hide the sentence and write it. As an extension for both worksheets, children can put in the dots and dashes for each phoneme/grapheme in the word.
Further in-depth details on how to use PowerPoint and teach phonics are on the note pages on the PowerPoint.

This is a complete resource with a SMART notebook presentation and differentiated worksheets. It is designed to teach children how to use capital letters correctly and more confidently. This resource is linked to the story ‘Handa’s Surprise’.
The SMART notebook presentation follows a series of skills as to how to use capital letters correctly.
Firstly, the children identify that a sentence always starts with a capital letter.
Secondly, the children work on how proper nouns always have a capital letter.
Finally, the children work on the pronoun I and how it is always a capital letter wherever in the sentence.
There is a starter activity where the children connect the uppercase letters to the lowercase letter. This will help children to identify and link uppercase and lowercase letters.
The main activity allows the children to identify where to place the capital letters for the start of the sentence, proper nouns, and the pronoun I.
The worksheets come in two different fonts: SasoonPrimaryInfant and Letter Join Air No Lead 40. Worksheets are differentiated where the LA can have the sheet where the prompts for capital letters are highlighted, allowing them to work more independently.
The Word document allows worksheets to be adapted easily.
The SMART notebook can also be easily adapted.
