Phonics Phase 3-5 Words This PowerPoint consists of over 250 graphemes with words linked to each grapheme. It has been put together to support children in building their confidence in segmenting and blending to read words with various graphemes from set 3 to set 5. The words have been carefully selected as they have appeared in previous phonics papers. Regular exposure to these words will build children’s fluency in identifying key graphemes and reading the words with fluency and accuracy. The graphemes/sounds and the words specific to each half-term have been put into each term as challenges: Autumn 1&2 - bronze challenge, Spring 1&2 - silver challenge, and Summer 1&2 - gold challenge. This PowerPoint document can be easily adapted and developed further. It can be used alongside any phonics scheme and can inform future planning. It can also be used to provide spellings, small group or targeted interventions, or be used as homework practice… It is easy to print off and can be adapted if needed to meet the needs of individual classes or students.
