Great series of worksheets to bring structure and scientific inquiry in building electrical circuits.
Made up of four electrical circuit practical worksheets. Children have to complete one before proceeding to the next. Each successive one is more difficult than the previous.
Each page involves drawing drawing and building a circuit followed by testing it and answering related questions.
Children will build and test both series and parallel circuits.
*Requires that the children have the basic pieces to create each electrical circuit to test.
Circuit 1 - Comparing the brightness of one and two bulbs in series.
Circuit 2 - Comparing the speed of one and two motors in series.
Circuit 3 - Parallel circuits and a logic diagram.
Circuit 4 - Freestyle circuit building, testing and evaluating.
A crossword puzzle for reviewing the process of the water cycle. It’s A3 size so it’s great for pairs or small groups to work together on. You could always print as A4 if needs be though. Available as both an editable DOC and PDF.
There are 28 question in total. Here are a few examples of the clues inside:
A large body of fresh water.
When water flows off a surface.
Water as a solid.
Floating chunks of ice in the sea.
I see how far the children are able to get through it before letting them use their books to help out.
This document is made up of 40 different cards (4 fact cards for each of the 8 planets in our solar system). Please see the preview for insight on the variety of different facts. Ideally, print on A3 and cut up the cards.
The idea is for children to match the facts up to the correct planet. They could also put the planets in order from the sun as an additional task. I find this best suited to groups of 3-4 children so print off enough copies for your class.
It works well as a starter to a unit on space but also could be used during or at the end to see how much they have learned.
If you can, laminate the cards for future use. I hope your children enjoy this activity! Please leave a review if you’re satisfied.
Fun crossword all about the planets in our solar system. Here are some examples of the clues…
Has an extensive ring system.
Known as the Red Planet
Furthest planet away from the sun
The 7th Planet away from the sun
The star that our planets orbit
The crossword is a large size so works well for small groups of 2-4 children. The answers are included on the second page.
The children really enjoy doing this and can get quite competitive trying to complete it before other groups. I hope you enjoy it to. Please leave a review if you have a moment. Thank you.
This worksheet contains pictures of all 8 planets in our solar system with their names. The idea is for the children to cut them up and stick them in the correct position in order from the sun.
Simple, fun and effective way for children to remember their order. As an additional task they could make up their own mnemonic to help them more easily remember their order.
I hope you like this resource! Please leave a review if you have a moment. Thank you.
This worksheet is made up of 2 parts. The first involves filling in the missing information for the table about the 8 planets in our solar system. Children will need to research and find the information using books and/or the internet. Please see the preview for further information about the groups of information required.
The second part is a true or false activity with statements that directly relate to the information in the table.
This is quite an extensive activity and children will need plenty of time to collate their research and fill it in correctly. It works well as a small group activity (2-3 children). All the answers are included on the second page.
I hope you enjoy this resource! If you have a moment, please leave a review. Thank you.

This worksheet has a diagram showing four common electrical symbols and their pictures - battery/cell, lamp, cables/wires and a switch. The children have to draw an electrical circuit for a light with a switch. The second part of the worksheet is a fill in the blanks activity in which children use the words from the box to complete the paragraph about the circuit.
This worksheet serves as a good introduction or reinforcement for children who are just starting to learn about electrical circuits and the symbols used to draw them.
Large activity and puzzle sheets for 6 different body systems - digestive, respiratory, circulatory, skeletal and the male and female reproductive systems.
Please see individual previews for further details. If you like the pack and have a moment, please kindly leave a review. Thank you.
This worksheet comprises of a fill in the blanks paragraph all about electrical conductors and insulators, a space for a experiment setup diagram and a results table.
The children are expected to complete the fill in the blanks activity first. You could help them out by providing a word bank on the board/projector.
They should then draw a circuit which will enable them to test the conductivity of different materials. For this you will ideally need some batteries, wires and either a motor, LED or Light bulb. I usually have children work in pairs for the experiment but complete their own worksheet.
Before testing the materials the children have selected they need to make a prediction or hypothesis about whether their material will conduct electricity or not.
*This document is fully editable so you can make changes where you please. *
This worksheet is comprised of a table for children to fill in information about the three states of matter - solids, liquids and gases.
The first row is for the names of each. The second row has a beaker outline for children to draw the arrangement of atoms or molecules for that particular state of matter. The third row is to describe in writing the basic properties of each state of matter and the final row is for examples of each.
I use this worksheet in class to reinforce information about the states of matter. The diagrams are usually copied from the board or at least a diagram from the internet. For the rest of the content, I see how much the children can fill in independently before presenting the full set of information needed to complete the worksheet.
Using the children as actual atoms is a fun addition to help explain the properties of each state of matter. For example, a group of children can stand in an orderly grid, shaking (vibrating) on the spot. Another child can act as a heat source and when they get near, the atoms start to vibrate faster before breaking off and then moving around, but only within the carpeted area. This can then continue through to gases and then reversed. It’s also a great way to introduce the names for the changes in state, which could also be added onto the worksheet with arrows showing the direction of change for evaporation, condensation, freezing and melting.
This worksheet comprises a table of the seven nutrients with columns for their uses and example sources. Each section of the table has blanks for the children to fill in.
The words for the blanks are provided in the table at the beginning. Each nutrient also has a few missing letters to fill in.
I use this worksheet to reinforce the names, uses and sources of each of the seven nutrients needed in a healthy balanced diet. There are also posters with information on the classroom walls which they can refer to if they need.
The document is fully editable so you can differentiate or make any other changes where you please.
This worksheet comprises two parts. The first is a fill in the blanks section where ideally the children test objects using a light source and fill in with the help of the words from the table.
The second part can also involve some testing done throughout the day or could be done after the fact. It involves drawing where the sun would be at different times of the day and then drawing an object and its corresponding shadow.
Children learn about the ways that a shadow can be affected and how and relate it to the shadows of objects caused by everyday objects blocking light from the sun.
As an extra fun activity, have the children draw around their own shadows at different points during the day. It helps to have a compass too to record the direction the sun is shinning in.
*This download comes as both a PDF and a fully editable DOC, so you can change it to suit your needs. *
A3 crossword puzzle that reviews different aspects about the topic of light, including light properties, light sources, reflection, shadows etc.
Over 25 questions included as well as light related symbols as decoration.
Great for pairs to work on as a review of the unit. I usually see how far the children can get without the help of any reference, before letting them use the books or wall displays to help complete it.
*The included files are an editable Word Document (in which you can edit the wording of the questions if needs be) and the same document in PDF format. *
A food diary for children to record their diet over the course of a school week. Great for when learning about healthy balanced diets and nutrients. Encourages children to reflect upon their own diet and potentially improve it as a result.
The booklet includes an example page that gives an idea of what is expected. Each day is split into three meals with snacks and include the following questions and starting statements for each:
What did you eat?
How much did you eat?
Was it tasty?
I should have eaten more…
I should have eaten less/fewer…
Do you think your diet was balanced for this day? Why or why not?
The document is fully editable in Word, so you could add extra days or remove as necessary.
This worksheet is a full scientific write-up of a conduction experiment which tests the electrical conduction of different classroom materials.
Each part of the scientific method is explained and some parts are partially complete so the children have to fill in the rest.
To complete the experiment and write-up, they will need a simple circuit - battery, wires and some sort of small appliance such as a bulb, buzzer or motor.
Encourage some creative material choices as they perform the experiment and make sure they write down what material it is made from, for example a metal ruler.
Water and water with salt dissolved in it are both interesting substances to hypothesise about and test for conductivity.
*The files included in this download are a fully editable DOC and a PDF version of the same. *
