Percentages Multpliers

Percentages Multpliers

(0)
Three worksheets that explain how to calculate percentages of amounts by using multipliers e.g. 23% of £540 = 0.23 x 540. Two of the worksheets have duplicates using slightly different numbers so there are 5 pages in total including the answers. The questions ask students to use different methods to calculate percentages and check the answers are the same and to think about WHY the method works by showing that dividing by 2 is the same as multiplying by ½. This topic usually skips by so quickly at school that many students miss it and are left perplexed when they are expected to understand how to do reverse percentage calculations. The next resource in the series is 'Percentages using Multipliers - Increasing and Decreasing '. DfE reference for GCSE 2017 R9 For more resources like this please visit the SKILLSHEETS Shop

SIMILAR SHAPES : Length, Area, Volume Ratios

(3)
These 5 worksheets help to explain the effects of enlargement on the area and volume of a shape by looking at the length, area and volume ratios. This is an important topic that is often found difficult by many students. There are three basic worksheets introducing the idea then two pages of harder word problems for extension work. The first worksheet lets students calculate the surface area and volume of simple 1cm and 2cm cubes so they can create the ratios themselves and see how the area and volume ratios derive from the length ratio. Sheets 2 and 3 require students to use the relationships between the ratios to calculate missing areas and volumes. The two word problem sheets are similar to GCSE 9-1 exam questions.
