Transition lesson for our roll over curriculum (Y9 students started the AQA GCSE Citizenship course in the last two weeks of the Summer Term). Lesson looks at the timeline of the general election 2024, looking at the manifestos, live debate and who the new prime minister is. Very discussion based/watching video clips, but works well as a transition lesson/introduction to the course. This KS4 lesson (aimed at Y10) looks at how radicalisation happens. It is meant to last 100 minutes, but the final documentary is 30 minutes long and due to the nature of the topic students have a lot of questions/debate so it took me longer than a double lesson to teach this.
