L2 of Rights and Responsibilities lesson aimed at the AQA Paper 2 unit. This lesson looks at the role of the police, PCSOs, Police Commisioner, Special Constables etc. Resource and worksheet. Lots of clips to support learning. Model answer provided for the 4 mark question.

L1 for Rights and Responsibilties, aimed at AQA Citizenship GCSE- Y9. This lesson introduces the concepts of justice and fairness. Students look at what age they can do things by. This leads onto looking at the age of criminal responsibility. I have included a link to the BBC Iplayer drama “Responsible Child.” There is a worksheet for this. This drama is not essential to the lesson, but it does provide a more modern approach to debating the age of criminal responsibility and is a nice alternative to looking at James Bulger. This is a lesson that sets up 3 lessons (plus homework) for students to be grouped together to look at patterns, trends and contemporary issues within families. Students are given the question prompts and have to create a 10 minute powerpoint presentation and teaching activity. I give students 3 lessons with ICT facilities in 2 of them.

This is a double lesson if the whole of the documentary is watched. The lesson combines looking at the changing relationship between parents and their children, and the relationships with the wider family. 4 mark exam question to finish.

A lesson looking at Ann Oakley and the conventional family. There are some slides looking at the effects of the pressure of living a conventional lifestyle can have have on wellbeing such as financial implications, mental health issues etc. Students complete the proforma and comprehension questions.

The lesson can either be taught as a market place activity or students completing as you teach each section (preferred) there are plenty of video clips and students complete a 12 mark plan (or complete the question) at the end of the lesson. A lesson aimed at AQA Islam Practices (Y10). Looking at Ramadan and Sawm. Students create an information leaflet to give to non-muslims to support them during Ramadan. Discussion points focus on the image of Mo Salah “breaking” his fast during the Champions League Final. 5 mark exam question with model answer.
