This scheme uses urban legends as a starting point for devising. It includes several lesson exploring the key features of urban legends in a powerpoint. Introduce your students to the fabulous story of Macbeth resulting in a whole class performance of the play in 20 minutes! Various activities and games to introduce characters and themes are included including Whoosh! and freeze frames. A synopsis of the story and the story broken into scenes are included to be allocated to small groups to dramatise in their own way to join together for an end class performance. This scheme of work explores the play based on the much loved book by David Almond. It includes connected games and warm ups and group tasks using choral work, movement and vocal skills to explore plot, characters and themes. Tasks are linked to the text and off-text work and use many dramatic techniques. Questions are suggested for evaluation after each task and the scheme lasts four to five lessons depending on their length.

This workshop includes Whooshing the story for students not familiar with the plot. Connected warm-ups are included and then Still Images/Tableaux to explore themes of the play. The students can then create scenes from the play which can then be joined together to create a whole class performance of the play. A synopsis of the play and the play broken down into twelve simple sections are included along with instructions to deliver the workshop. Suitable for y6 and upwards as can be differentiated accordingly.
