Ice may be nothing more than frozen water but, as Dr. Iain Stewart explains, it holds extraordinary power. Descending 150m down a frozen waterfall, he sees a glacier in action from below and discovers why the huge Jacobshaven glacier is retreating, he shows how it shaped our past and may now threaten our future. The worksheet is designed to keep students engaged and hold them accountable while watching the documentary. This fun WebQuest contains 80 questions and is a great way for students to learn more about the geography of AFRICA (including physical landmarks, flags, capitals, size, state boundaries and population size), while enhancing their internet research skills. An ANSWER KEY, student web links and teacher directions are provided. The Internet Scavenger Hunt can be done as a whole class, in small groups, individually and even at home as part of distance or remote learning. This resource is not only google classroom friendly, but also includes printable and editable formats (PDF and Word). Choose the format that best fits your needs. This internet scavenger hunt was designed specifically for middle school students but can be “scaled up or down” to suit other grade levels by simply amending the number of questions the students need to answer. Include four separate scavenger hunts (of 20 questions each). Your students can do all four scavenger hunts or just do one or two, depending on the time available. This internet scavenger hunt was designed specifically for middle school students but can be “scaled up and down” to suit other grade levels by simply increasing or reducing the number of questions the students need to answer. I have included two versions of the same scavenger hunt. There is a ‘long version’ with sixty questions in total, and a ‘shorter version’ covering the same questions but broken down into three separate scavenger hunts (20 questions eahc). Your students can do all three scavenger hunts or just do one, depending on the time available. This Natural Resources/Energy Resources BINGO game provides students with an opportunity to learn more about scientific method and science related vocabulary. The print-ready pdf file includes 30 unique Bingo game boards and 28 calling cards. The game can be played with as few as two people or with an entire class. The bingo calling cards come in two sizes. The larger version all have a definition of the vocabulary word that is being called. The “caller” draws a calling card and reads the clues aloud and the players must find the matching definition on their game board. The calling cards by themselves also make an engaging learning resource. Print two copies, and you are set to play a memory game. Best if the game is printed in color on cardstock and then laminated for longevity! The documentary series explores how geology, geography and climate have influenced and continue to shape human history. Each episode examines a different force, including the effects of deep earth, wind, fire and water. This episode (Episode 1/5 - Deep Earth) shows how forces of the deep earth played a role in the development of human civilization. The video worksheet is designed to keep students engaged and hold them accountable while watching the documentary.
