Lesson on hormones for use in a computer suite or with supporting material such as books - if pupils know how to use a book these days. Involves learning from peers and peer assessment. AFL and progress checks included in PPT.

The who, what and why of cannabis on the body and legality in 2012. Encourages debates and arguing points of view. No other materials necessary (except for attached videos) open ppt and wait for the fireworks.

Hunger games homeostasis - i used this as a group competition (who came up with the best answers/most detail for each scenario). I was in a computer room for this lesson but it could be used after the topic has been taught (if in a lab) or used with books etc. Kids loved it, they were really engaged in it.

The whole year 8 unit on MICROBES & DISEASE. Including: Microbes (pathogens, bacteria and viruses), Bodily defence systems (natural defences), Immune System (+ white blood cells), Vaccination (+ Autism é Deadly Diseases), Antibiotics (+ MRSA). My year 8&'s grew quite fond of microbe Michelle by the end..but did she die? - up to you and your class. Only suitable for teachers with a sense of humour!

An infographic made for Year 11 Separate Biology students (Edexcel HT Spec). My students were struggling to remember the differences and processes involved in protein synthesis, so I made this for them. It quite a simplified version of events but includes all the key terms in a engaging and memorable format. I gave the students a copy of this and asked them to create 4 and 6 mark questions based on the content, they then peer assessed the responses. Hope you enjoy!
