Sustainable Energy Game - lockdown, keyworker students, end of term, geography, science

A game to play with students all you need is a die. It will test students maths skills and throw in a bit of luck. You have £5000 to spend on sustainable energy developments. Cost are in the headings in the table. You must spend all the £5000. Each day will start with a roll of the dice. What ever the number lands on determines the days energy. Profitable = times the profit amount by how many of the energy type you have Broken and Damaged = two options every blank out the type for how ever many days or fix them straight away. The winner will be the person that earns the most money at the end of the game. See the example in the table below. The total for day 1 would be: Profit = 30 + 20 = £50 Broken = -£150 Total = -£100 Chance to buy more if needed every 7 days and add up totals Extra weeks can be printed from page 3

The powerpoint goes through various topics (based on AQA B1 and B2 but I am sure will link to other specs with ease) regarding variation and genetics. It is all based around a Jurassic Park/World model Jurassic Land and the students will embark on an adventure to complete an apprenticeship programme at I-gen. There is a front sheet also attached and a sheet in which students can genetically engineer a T-Rex into the I-Rex. This series of lessons is not split up as such but needs your professional judgement of what to include and what not to include and should support your teaching and learning in your SoW . I hope it helps. Find me on twitter @TJohns85 SEE MY OTHER RESOURCES PREMIUM + FREE IN MY TES SHOP https://www.tes.com/teaching-resources/shop/TRJ

Print off and give to all students to review the year. A brilliant end of year activity. Students anomalously can then hand them back in - fold the slips and place in a jar for you to read later.
