Bring in a Bear Week - Start of New Year - Icebreaker

(0)
A lovely way to start the school year! Ideal for younger children (Nursery, Reception or Year 1). Task: Ask the children to bring in a teddy bear from home - big/small, new or old. Tell the children that the whole class will be looking at different types of teddy bears and finding out what makes them special… a great starting point when trying to get the children talking about themselves. Before the children bring in their special teddy bear, ask them (parents) to complete the teddy bear label (paper copy or online copy) … both provided. Along with the homework assignment sheet (bring in a bear), I’ve also attached 4 colouring-in teddy bear sheets and 2 colour teddy bears for display. Fully editable.

Level Writing - Fully Automated System

Level Writing - Fully Automated System

(0)
A fully automated leveling system for writing. This system gives you an accurate grade for each child’s written work. Great for moderating writing too. Instructions: Read a child’s piece of narrative then work down the list of writing objectives. If a student achieves a specific learning objective, put a ‘1’ in the column. This makes the writing objective turn grey. If the student hasn’t achieved the objective, put a zero in the column. This makes the writing objective turn yellow. Leave a ‘dash’ if you want the row to stay the same. The chart totals the '1’s and tells you the exact writing level is PLUS it shows you what objectives still need to be achieved.
