The resources in this word family pack will help children in KS1 to practise recognising letter patterns. The resource includes: Word family posters – which are colour coded according to the vowel with which the letter string starts. Letter cards – these cards present the letter string in the centre of the card. Space is left around the letter string so that children can write words containing the letter string around it. Alternately, children could stick the word cards (see below) in this space. Word cards – these cards each contain a word from the posters. Children can investigate sorting these into piles according to their shared letter string.
