Word problems for adding and subtracting fractions on 3 A4 sheets with a Halloween theme. Differentiated, engaging and complete with answers. Differentiated for three ability groups, support and extend each pupil in your class, provide them with adequate challenge and pace of learning. Three sheets consist of: Low Ability - Colouring in fractions in order to do repeated addition and subtraction. Then simple calculations using the same denominator. Middle Ability - Adding and subtracting fraction word problems using the same denominator. Moving onto problems with different denominators, then onto word problems consisting of adding and subtracting mixed numbers and improper fractions. High Ability - Adding and subtracting fraction word problems with different denominators, improper fractions and mixed numbers, percentages and decimals. They will need to convert percentages and decimals to fractions in order to add or subtract with them. Final questions ask for reasoning and diagrams to prove mathematical understanding. Enjoy these slightly spooky questions while engaging your pupils in this important area of maths. All answers provided to ensure quick and easy marking. All reviews welcome.
