Simple Machines: Levers - Sorting Activities for the Three Classes of Levers. Everything you need to know about levers is presented in this activity booklet. When teaching about Simple Machines, levers are usually taught first because students can clearly use them to identify the effort, load and fulcrum. Recycling Activities and posters for sorting pictures of different kids of trash into the following categories for recycling: compost, metal, glass, plastic, and paper. The sorting mats are to be used by sticking the trash items unto the correct mats (which are provided). Your students can also use large containers as recycling bins for sorting the pictures. I added bin labels for such an activity. The posters can be used to add to your classroom recycling unit or Earth Day theme. These Martin Luther King Jr. literacy activities has Martin Luther King Jr.'s famous 'I Have a Dream’ speech as the focus of this writing center. These are writing activities are also focused on the life of Martin Luther King Jr. The first activity is a Q & A trivia about Martin Luther King Jr.'s life, based on a brief biography (included). The trivia questions are presented on the faces of cubes so the kinesthetic students can have fun rolling the cubes to get a question to answer. Verbal/linguistic minded students can make a game of it by answering orally OR introverted students can write the answers out on the color coded answer sheets provided. An answer key is included.
