This is a pictorial game of matching pairs with words spelled with on the stave using the letters A-G and corresponding image cards. It has been designed to give students further practice in identifying note pitches. There are 14 pairs with versions for the treble and bass clefs using the notes on the lines and spaces in a variety of rhythms. The game has two versions, either with colourful backs or with plain low-ink cards so you can choose the set that best suits your printing requirements. The cards have straight edges and have been carefully aligned so you can cut them out easily before either folding and laminating, or folding and gluing them.

Major and Minor Scales and Arpeggios Flashcards

(0)
Do your students have trouble remembering the notes in different scales and arpeggios? This set of flashcards will help them recall which key signatures and accidentals are in which scales. Major scale cards have the sharps or flats in the key signature listed, whilst minor scale cards include the key signature and any adjustments to the sharps or flats as dictated by the type of minor scale - harmonic, melodic and natural minors are featured. The arpeggio cards show the three notes in the arpeggio. For ease of printing, the scales and arpeggios have been arranged in the following sections: Major scales Harmonic, melodic and natural minor scales for each key Harmonic minor scales only Melodic minor scales only Natural minor scales only Major arpeggios Minor arpeggios These flashcards can be used in lessons or as homework. Simply choose which pages to print for your student, cut them out then fold them in half and stick or laminate the halves together. Suggestion: Print on to coloured paper or stick an additional sheet of white paper to the back of the page before cutting if you find you can see through the cards.

Improve your beginner music students' note value recognition skills with this game of musical snap. It includes: - Quavers/eighth notes - Crotchets/quarter notes - Minims/half notes - Dotted minims/dotted half notes - Semibreves/whole notes Each card contains a series of notes adding up to 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 beats. Players can snap any two cards that add up to the same number of beats. Each card has an exact duplicate as well as cards with other combinations that add up to the same number of beats. Once they can play this game successfully, pupils will have a solid grounding in note values and their equivalents. Note Value Snap can be played as a quick 5 or 10-minute game during lessons or your pupils can spend longer playing it at home as part of their practice time. Encourage children to reinforce their knowledge by showing their sibling or parent how to play - they'll love taking on the role of teacher. These cards can also be used as flashcards with adults. The pack includes two versions. Version one has a patterned back. Fold over each card and laminate it for a hardwearing copy that can be used in every lesson. Version two has no back so you can print it directly on to card.

Sleigh Dash (Christmas musical notation note value game)

(0)
Race to fill Santa's sleigh in this fast-paced musical notation game. Santa has received a lot of questions in the children's Christmas letters this year. If you can help him answer them, he'll be able to collect enough presents to fill his sleigh! Each player draws seven value cards (quavers/eighth notes, crotchets/quarter notes, dotted crotchets/dotted quarter notes, minims/half notes, dotted minims/dotted half notes and semibreves/whole notes) as well as the equivalent rests. The first player to answer Santa's question correctly, using their cards, wins a present. Santa's questions feature filling a bar in 2/4, 3/4 and 4/4 time, finding note and rest equivalents, addition and subtraction with musical notes, and balancing a seesaw with equivalent note lengths. Presents are drawn at random - your younger pupils will love seeing what they get. The winner is either the first person to win x number of presents or the person with the most presents after x minutes have elapsed. Sleigh Dash will give your students the practice they need to know their note values inside out.

Complete Clarinet Scales Cards for ABRSM Exams 2017-18 Grades 1 to 8

(0)
This set has cards for every single possible scale combination for the ABRSM clarinet exams grades 1 to 8. Simply print out the page(s) for your student's grade and give them the sheets. They can then cut out the cards and place them in a pot/jar/bag. When they practise, they can pick them out at random to ensure they are practising all of their scales. For grades with more scales, they can sort them into different pots as they play through them - confident, needs some more practice, needs a lot more practice. They should then pick from the "needs a lot more practice" pot most frequently, until eventually all of the scales are in the "confident" pot. Each card tells the student which scale to play, whether it should be tongued or slurred (or, for higher grades, legato-tongued, staccato or slurred) and how many octaves should be played. It is just like having the teacher or examiner giving instructions, and it will ensure students are accustomed to playing each scale on demand. This resource can be used with every single one of your clarinet students as they progress through the grades. NB: I'm not affiliated with ABRSM in any way.
