A fun Maths starter, suitable for Year 4-6. Pupils have to find the missing sign (plus; minus; times; divide) that fits between the numbers in order to get the correct answer. They can use any sign they want, but the numbers have to stay in the same order. Can be used as a daily starter and then keep a league table showing results!

This History Rocks! resource looks at ‘The shot that sparked a war’, as Gavrilo Princip assassinates Archduke Franz Ferdinand. A fun differentiated learning resource with key words, activities and further research. There are three levels of differentiation: the first level has just the questions. Level 2 has sentence starters. Level three has sentence starters and a number of hints, ensuring that there is a level for each pupil. All pupils answer the **Understanding **questions which will give them a basic understanding of the topic. The Historical Enquiry questions extend them more and require pupils to expand and explain their thinking; the answers are subjective. There is also a Creative Work section where they can demonstrate their learning and understanding in a creative manner. Also included is a newspaper template to report on the event as well as a guideline that will help give ideas on what to put on the front page. An information sheet with text and pictures that explain the different causes of WW1. There are three differentiated levels of questions for pupils to complete. Each set of questions has three sections: TIME TO THINK: answering these questions give pupils a basic understanding of the topic. HISTORICAL ENQUIRY: this requires them to think a bit more and give their own opinion. CREATIVE WORK: a creative piece to complete. The first level of questions are just the questions, for top pupils. The second level have sentence starters to help get them started. The third level has sentence starters and a few hints.

A sample set of Common Entrance source questions on Henry VII and Henry VIII. One set is in the style of the ISEB exam paper with one question only, for exam practice. The other allows pupils to develop their source skills, with a number of questions that allow pupils to develop and work on their: comprehension of sources interpretation of sources cross-corroboration of sources understanding of provenance ability to assess a statement This set of resources are free. The full set contain 30 topics covering the period 1485-1750. Each topic has two papers: one a single ISEB question, the other with a number of questions to develop pupils’ skills.
