I often times use task cards as a reader's response entry when introducing a new topic! A way in which I assess these task card entries is through this Task Card Rubric and Student Checklist.
My students know the requirements of reader's response entries. They are asked to use the student checklist before turning in their work to ensure they took the right steps! After turning the response in I use the rubric to evaluate their task card reading response entries.
This works great for me!!! Enjoy! :)
