Gravitational Potential & Kinetic Energy Worksheet

(10)
Double-sided activity worksheet to investigate GPE and KE with a pendulum. Requires datalogger and lightgate to measure velocity. For very able pupils, can be completed in an hour. Pendulum is varied in starting height and velocity measured at bottom. Tables on worksheet plus graph to plot.

Cardsort of objects in the Universe

(0)
Cardsort with objects from meteorite, asteroid, up to galaxies and the Universe. Sort by size. The sheet has a background which might help - if their heads are switched on.

Pressure Activity - water jetting out of bottle

(0)
An A4 sheet to laminate and use with activity. Put three holes in side of plastic bottle, fill with water and observe water jetting out of holes. Pupils answer questions to consider pressure at top and bottom.

Newton's 3 Laws of Motion - Make a Tetrahedron

(0)
Newton's 3 Laws of Motion on a cool, handy tetrahedron. Print onto card, cut-out, assemble and keep forever! Three faces are blank for students to add the 3 laws with pictures, examples whatever.
Investigating Air Resistance Worksheet

Investigating Air Resistance Worksheet

(1)
Investigate how surface area and mass affect the time it takes an objects take to fall. Introduces terminal velocity and air resitance. A double-sided worksheet for high ability students. Requires a piece of A4 paper and card, stopwatch and two metre rules plus graph paper. Will take an hour for very able students to complete. Pupils measure the time a piece of A4 paper/card takes to fall 1.5m. Then folded. Worksheet has tables ready to fill in. They will plot a graph of velocity vs surface area (already worked out).

Design a Rollercoaster worksheet - GPE & KE

(33)
Work out Gravitational Potential Energy and Kinetic Energy by designing a rollercoaster. Pupils are taken through calculating GPE, KE and final velocity. For a high ability group.
