Detective Writing
The Detective Writing lessons helps students to understand what inference is and how this will help them to give a clearer explanation. The students become detectives to help solve crimes.
Non fiction:Crime Lesson 3 & 4
Using the story of Goldilocks, and The Grinch it shows students to produce a magazine article and a formal letter. Examples included, along with worksheets.My year 8 group loved these lessons.
NON FICTION: Crime:
I have used popular children's characters e.g. Peter Pan, Scar etc for the non fiction lessons. Lesson 1:They have to identify the crimes they have committed and discuss the punishment they deserve. I have also used Roald Dahl's Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
Lesson 2: Students have to analyse a crime report then have a go at producing their own, based on Goldilocks. A checklist has been included so students check through their work. starter tasks and homework task included. These lessons were put together for a low ability year 8 group but my high ability group really enjoy the tasks too.
Intro to Roald Dahl
An interactive lesson where students have to share their fact on Roald Dahl. This is aimed at year 7. I have included the facts and the worksheet.

Jekyll and Hyde Revision mat
I have put this together to help support my year 11 students - so they remember what happening in each chapter, who the characters are. I have also added the Assessment Objectives and used questioning to help them understand how to reach each AO. questions added for them to test their knowledge.
Alice's Adventure in Wonderland revision mat
4 A4 sides: this gives the summary of the book and a list of characters. I have also added comprehension questions for each chapter and a side of other activities and challenges. Made for a top year 7 group.
Creative writing booklet: description
The booklet is 50 pages and includes a vast amount of tasks that help students build on the skills required for descriptive writing - there are basic tasks to begin with that leads up to exam practice and should build up confidence in students. I have used this with a group of year 9 students and it has helped them to progress.
