**Here are some activity sheets to print and use after you’ve read Squirrel’s New Year’s Resolution, by Pat Miller, to your students. ** Comprehension Sheet - This sheet asks students to draw and write about their favorite part, list five characters, two settings, and write their own New Year’s Resolution. Story Map - Students use words and/or pictures to fill in the characters, setting, problem, and solution of the story. Five writing pages. Students can choose the one they wish to write their New Year’s Resolution on. There is room to draw a picture of them following through on their resolution. My New Year activity page allows students to brainstorm things they want to do, read, and learn in the New Year. After they brainstorm, there is a place for them to formulate their New Year’s Resolution. Word-Making Activity standalone reproducible using the word “resolution.” Word-Making Center “I Can” sign, a second reproducible, and letters to print on cardstock and cut out for the word “resolution.”

April Fools' Day Word Searches. (These are REAL word searches...not a joke ones). Word Search #1 Words are horizontal and vertical only. Word Search #2 Words are horizontal, vertical, diagonal and backwards in this hard puzzle! Both versions come in Full Color for those that like to laminate and reuse. I like to put them in one of those reusable dry erase pockets with a vis a vis marker. Easy center in my Media Center. Also in B&W reproducible! Kids LOVE to decorate and color the word search when they are done. Both levels help you to differentiate for your students. They look the same, but the directions at the top help you know which version you gave them!
