An activity to encourage aspiring medics to research into the wide variety of medical specialties/hospital departments there are. Aimed at students study A-Levels and interested in applying for medicine at university. Students are given a list of medical specialties (e.g. renal, ophthalmology, hepatology) and have to research what the specialty/team do. E.g: Renal - kidneys, e.g. dialysis; ophthalmology - eyes, e.g. cataracts, surgery, trauma…)

Got a student interest in working in a lab setting but doesn’t know what they want to do? This is for them and includes everything from entry-level roles, apprentices, university graduates and qualified doctors. Each member of staff answers: Name Job What team/department they work for What qualifications they have What they do on a day-to-day basis How they got where they are today Their favourite thing about their job A challenge they face in their job A piece of advice for school students
