Space Ranger Themed Editable Complete KS1 Maths Challenge (Like 99 Club)
Here is everything you will need to run a KS1 maths challenge in your school. All the challenge are based on mental arithmetic and number facts. They will need to not only learn the number facts but also be able to apply them. There are 15 levels to the challenge - which are called 'missions' and for each, there is an accompanying homework sheet which details their mission and the 'reward. The first reward is to earn their meteor proof space suit, and others include gravity defying space boots, gadget belt and a multi coloured laser (all virtual rewards of course, but fun to collect!). The whole class then has a timed challenge (4 minutes) to complete the challenge sheet for whatever mission they are on. The challenge has been designed to meet the increased requirements of the 2014 National Curriculum and support preparation for KS1 SAT's. This mega resource comes with instructions, 15 homework sheets, 15 challenge sheets, 2 sets of stickers for each mission (one for the children and one for their books so 30 sheets in total), display pictures, a cover for the folder to keep all the resources organised, an information letter for parents and a list of all of the missions and their learning objectives. This resource is the result of many hours of preparation and is completely usable as it is but is also fully editable to enable you to adapt or personalise all of the resources. You could also create some additional challenges if you wanted to extend this into KS2. If you are happy to use it as it is then please download the FREE version. Please note that sticker sheets have been made to fit Consortium 65 labels. Feedback welcome, enjoy!

EYFS and KS1 Calculation Policy - Teaching for Mastery
Here is a calculation policy written to meet the aims of the 2014 National curriculum for KS1. It is fully editable so can be adapted to suit the needs of your individual school. I also have a FREE version in my shop that has been made generic so that it could be used by any school, or could be used as starting point for you to create own more personalised version. Both provide a progressive set of strategies based on a concrete, pictorial, abstract (CPA) approach and provides lots of images and examples to enable teachers to apply this in their classrooms. I wrote this policy after spending many hours trying to find something like it online but nothing was structured quite how I wanted it to look. I Hope you find the resource useful, please leave feedback.

New Curriculum KS1 Mathematics Assessment Spreadsheet Tool
A useful KS1 class assessment tool for the New Curriculum. This spreadsheet tool lists all of the Y1, Y2 and Y3 aims for the 2014 Mathematics Curriculum so you can record coverage and achievement and clearly identify gaps (Y3 aims have been included for children exceeding the statutory requirements for KS1). The tool has a separate page for each of the writing strands to make assessment clear and focused and gaps easier to identify The tool automatically calculates the percentage of year group expectations that each child attains. Teachers can then make a judgment on the strength that each child is working within age related expectations. The tool also makes mixed aged class assessment easier. The sheet comes with instructions and is simple to use, taking seconds to assess a whole class. There is also a tool for reading and for writing.
Rudolph mystery picture activity
This is a simple activity for Christmas time. Children colour in the appropriate numbers on a 100 square as directed to reveal a picture of Rudolph.
KS1 Group Numeracy Assessment
Really useful assessment sheets I made which breaks down the 4 areas of KS1 maths into progressive and levelled skills based on APP to make assessment at the end of the term/year much easier and to provide a good overview of any gaps in learning/coverage.
I have made a set for literacy also.
Y1 position and direction activity
A simple activity to introduce directions forward, backward, left and right. Children have the printed grid and have to follow the given directions. Directions are on a powerpoint presentation to display on IWB but could be printed out or read out loud to the children.
Shape Problem Solving
A set of shape problem solving activities of various difficulty. Children have the template sheet, then cut out the shapes and try to fit them into the template. A solution sheet can be printed to assist the children if they are struggling.
100 Square
Fully editable 100 square for lots of uses in the classroom. Fill the squares in different colours to explore number patterns or multiples. Delete numbers to set problem solving activities.
Dice addition bingo cards
Set of 6 bingo cards. To be used with 2 dice. Children roll the dice and add the 2 numbers together.
2D and 3D Shape Bingo Cards
Set of bingo cards of basic 2d and 3d shapes. Enough cards for whole class if working in pairs. Squares have been made the same size as square post it notes so that children can stick post its over the shapes and the teacher can easily lift the flap and see if they are right. Alternatively, if laminated, children can mark of with whiteboard pens. I use real shapes in a bag which I pull out, then children mark off the ones they have.
