Ordinal Numbers This is a set of 10 posters to help reinforce the concept of ordinal numbers. These bright and colorful posters are perfect for any classroom and they can be used as flashcards if you wish. Included in this file are the following: 1 set of ordinal number posters (1st to 10th only) 1 set of pocket chart cards (1st to 10th) 1 set of ordinal number word cards (1st to 10th) 1 set of wristbands (1st to 10th) Simply print and laminate the posters and cards that you wish. For the wristbands simply print, cut then give each student a wristband to color the appropriate car. You may allow them to organize themselves in the correct order using the wristbands to guide them.

FANBOYS Join words phrases and clauses using the coordinators (mnemonic FANBOYS). Students can use these posters to help memorize coordinating conjunctions so that they will not forget them! They are: F = for A = and N = nor B = but O = or Y = yet S = so Each poster bears the coordinating conjunction with an illustration of a boy (named) and an example for easy reference. Sight Words Sight Words: Did you ever wonder whether your chosen sight words were considered under the category Dolch, Fry or Fountas and Pinnell? Well here is a comparison table just for you. The first 400 words of Dolch’s list are compared to Fry’s Instant words and F&P’s high frequency words. This is handy for all teachers as an easy tool to organize your sight words especially if you need to tweak your existing pool of sight words to reflect the spectrum.

Alphabet: This is a wonderful way to get students to practice their letter identification and sounds. Simply cut out the alphabet fish cards and place a paper clip over each card. Fishermen (kids) will use their fishing line to catch a fish. The fishing lines can be bought commercially or made with a short stick, 20 inches of store string and a small magnet for the fishhook. Each child gets a turn trying to catch fish. If he can call a word that begins with the consonant sound on the fish he has caught, he may keep the fish. Feeling Words Here is a two-in-one mini-book that your students will have for a long time! For this activity your kiddos will build a list of words to describe their feelings. The feelings are: Angry Confused Proud Shy Sad Excited Content Embarrassed Happy Scared Shocked Worried Simply print the pages of the feeling words that you wish to include in this mini-book. The pages are not numbered so you can place them in any order. Staple the pages together. Have your students brainstorm or look for words that they can use to describe these feelings.
