This is a great physical outdoor math investigation that looks at measuring, averages, and division. For this activity students will measure out a running course (20 meters works well) and see how fast they can run the length of it. They can have three or four attempts before working out the average of their times. Once they’ve figured out their average they can then use the formulas to work out how was they were running in meters per second and kilometers per second.
