Double-sided A3 learning mat with embedded activities. Provides information on the history of straws, together with a graph and infographic showing the amount of plastic straw waste generated in the UK. Questions, whilst related to this information, require manipulation of information rather than simple comprehension recall. The back side of the sheet focuses on the associated problems of singe-use plastic straws. Questions relate to the impact on aquatic and human life. A challenge activity offers an opportunity for students to suggest additional solutions to the proposed ban of plastic straws by the end of 2018. There is scope for additional research in this final challenge activity.
