I'm a secondary Maths teacher in the Midlands, and I love creating interesting and wacky resources. Here I share anything I make that works! Resource that took a significant amount of time to create, full lessons, quick worksheets and interesting games. Feel free to browse, download and try for yourself! But please leave feedback so I can improve them :)

Perimeter Snakes and Ladders

(32)
Includes rectangles, compound shapes and other polygons. Increases in difficulty towards the end of the game, starting with shapes where all sides are provided, developing into missing sides on rectangles towards compound shapes. Challenge question is usually something they can complete on the main board in the classroom.
Volume of Prisms Snakes and Ladders

Volume of Prisms Snakes and Ladders

(48)
Recommended by the TES resource team. Increases in difficulty towards the last few questions. Used for a top set year 10 class after being taught how to calculate the volume of a prism. This is the first one I ever made of these and proved very successful when encouraging independent and cooperative learning skills.
Perimeter Lesson Plan

Perimeter Lesson Plan

(24)
Two part lesson on perimeter for a low ability year 9 group. They really found Perry Perimeter engaging and were given time during starter of lesson 2 to create their own cut out of Perry to help them find the perimeter. Lesson ends on a game of Snakes and Ladders (in my other shared resources) which encouraged them to practice their skills as they have low attention spans.
Drawing Linear Graphs Activity (3 levels)

Drawing Linear Graphs Activity (3 levels)

(17)
Featured in the TES Secondary Maths Newsletter. These worksheets were created for a bottom set year 8 class, all around level 5-6, with a few capable of level 7 work. The activity is differentiated into three levels, each with a subsequent challenge task. y=mx + c subliminally added to the back of the worksheets to expose pupils to the general formula - worked well in summarising key features of linear graphs and equations.
Area Revision Sheet

Area Revision Sheet

(15)
This resource was made for a Grade C year 10 group. We had just covered area of rectangles, triangles, parallelograms and trapeziums. They needed some extra practice, but each one to varying levels and on different areas, so I made this set of 3 sheets to enable them to practice independently. Worked very well for them. Can also be used for KS3 for revision/practice. Questions taken from 10ticks and arranged.
Angles on a Point

Angles on a Point

(10)
Used for a low ability (nurture) year 9 group, as well as a low set year 7 group. Lesson involved showing techniques, and then practicing using the medal grid. Pupils gained a sticker in their book when they met the success criteria for each level. Worked well at keeping pupils engaged (may have helped that the platinum sticker was quite big!)
Intro to Trigonometry - Series

Intro to Trigonometry - Series

(9)
A series of 4 lessons introducing trigonometry ratios and solving these styles of problems. Completed in one week, the following week used to explore exam-style questions and consolidating the class skills further, incorporating Pythagoras. Lesson 1 - Labelling triangles and identifying which ratio to use. Lesson 2 - Calculating missing sides. Lesson 3 - Calculating missing angles. Lesson 4 - Consolidation of skills. Each lesson has differentiated tasks, alongside prompt material that was displayed around the board for the full week. Pupils were encouraged to use these throughout. Task for Lesson 4 (Challenging) taken from MathsWatchVLE. Support tasks for this lesson from MathsBox. Homework task courtesy of KangarooMaths (not attached) Level 8 - Trigonometry.
Nth Term Ladder Activity (5 Levels Differentiated)

Nth Term Ladder Activity (5 Levels Differentiated)

(7)
Resource for consolidation lesson on Nth term. Stages progress as such: Using nth term, finding linear nth term, finding simple quadratic nth term, finding trickier nth term and combination nth term. Pupils track their own progress on the IWB using the power point and post-it notes. Feel free to leave any comments/feedback.
Equations Ladder Activity (5 Levels Summary)
amybrookes1988amybrookes1988

Equations Ladder Activity (5 Levels Summary)

(5)
Used as a consolidation exercise of a broad ability, top set group. Pupils write their name on a post-it note (I colour coded mine by target level) and place it on the power point up on the IWB, starting with Stage One. Pupils are allowed to progress at their own rate, and focus on the areas they find the weakest. Questions and Answer sheets provided to collect on different colours as noted on the powerpoint. Please feel free to leave any feedback or let me know if there are any errors on there!
Rounding Ladder (Differentiated 5 levels)
amybrookes1988amybrookes1988

Rounding Ladder (Differentiated 5 levels)

(3)
Created for my second set year 7 class. There was a big divide in capability with rounding, so I made this to give each individual ample opportunity to work on their weaknesses. Lesson works as a ladder, with difficulty increasing as we go through. Everyone starts at the bottom and works through. Went very well as those that were struggling got more support early on and those that were excelling got support for the estimation activities. Also used the board as a progress tracker. Every student had a post - it note with their name on at the beginning of the lesson that they placed on the starting part of the ladder. They could then move their name when they moved up a level. Actually ended up running for two lessons, as they were really benefiting from it.
Circle Theorems - Challenge Boards

Circle Theorems - Challenge Boards

(6)
A set of activities used for a top set year 9 KS4 group. Each activity shows a practical application or a proof of one of the circle theorems. Works well as a consolidation exercise. Response to comment from Brunty_genius: The Flintstone problem can be solved by using a right-angle (most of my groups have used the edge of their exercise book) and placing it against the circumference. Mark where the book cuts through the circumference, then join the dots. This gives you the diameter, do it again and where the diameters cross is the centre ;)
Time-Distance Graphs Murder Mystery
amybrookes1988amybrookes1988

Time-Distance Graphs Murder Mystery

(3)
Used as a consolidation activity for year 8's. Pupils work in groups and are given clue cards and a graph. They share the cards out equally and must communicate what is on their cards without showing anyone the actual card. The aim is to discover facts about the murder after having constructed a graph to support their theory.
Units of Measure Snakes and Ladders

Units of Measure Snakes and Ladders

(2)
Increases in difficulty towards the end of the game. Used for a low ability year 10 group, but can be used with other levels and age groups. Challenge questions are usually something that can be completed on the board. Feel free to correct any errors on there, this is one I made during my PGCE.
Faces, Edges and Vertices Activity
amybrookes1988amybrookes1988

Faces, Edges and Vertices Activity

(1)
Used in the Kangaroo Maths Stage 7 scheme of learning (Investigating Properties of Shapes). Students are provided with the solids on their desk and are given a brief description on faces, edges and vertices. Students complete the table using information provided, the cheat sheet is used to encourage independent learning. (They should already know the names of the solids, but may need encouragement)
Creating Function Robots
amybrookes1988amybrookes1988

Creating Function Robots

(4)
Expanding upon a resource shared on TES by kilskeery1. This resource was used as a follow-up lesson to introduce unknowns into function robots and to enable lower ability pupils to become accustomed to how expressions and equations can be created. Differentiated into 4 levels (Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum) which scaffold from simple calculations using known numbers, into two step calculations involving unknowns.
Factorising Quadratics Aid
amybrookes1988amybrookes1988

Factorising Quadratics Aid

(1)
I made this for a small group of my top set year 8's. Because of the group size, the level range is quite large (Lowest 6C, highest 7A) and it becomes very tricky to differentiate. This was created for a lesson on general factorisation, and was provided to the top tables after they had practiced some difficult linear factorisations. Since they are very strong, their independent learning skills are excellent, and they thrive on challenge. Worked very well for them. Could also be useful as a revision aid, I've not tried it as that yet, but probably will in the near future.
Algebraic Notation (Solving Equations and Inequalities - Kangaroo Maths Stage 6)
amybrookes1988amybrookes1988

Algebraic Notation (Solving Equations and Inequalities - Kangaroo Maths Stage 6)

(2)
I found it really difficult to find resources that worked and matched to the Kangaroo Maths scheme of work, so I created this sheet for my mid-ability year 7 class. The sheet is differentiated 3 ways for 3 separate objectives, designed to build fluency and confidence in using algebraic notation and creating expressions. Print double sided so that students can check their answers as they work through it.
