Some chapters also contain one or more drama or writing activities as options as well. Used with several Year 6 classes over the years.

Ok so the story is a spin-off of that famous shark film that we all know, but I wrote this newspaper report as a model text for Year 6. They were focusing on telling the events of the report through quotes. Enjoy!

An incredibly simple resource, which has led to consistently good results in the Year 6 SPAG test. The PowerPoint explains how the starter works, and then includes over 60 slides to be used and adapted to suit your class. I am a Year 6 teacher but it can be used with any KS2 age as it includes grammar content from all 4 of the year groups. It has been observed on more than one occasion with 'outstanding' feedback, and is now implemented across my whole school and is getting results both academically but also with self-esteem.
