A 14 page workbook including 7 comprehensive tasks to meet the following learning outcomes:
• Reading short text on familiar topics
• Identify purpose of different texts
• Recognise key words, symbols and signs in texts
• Use headings, illustrations and captions to find information
• Sequence information in alphabetical order by first letters
An 18 page workbook containing 11 comprehensive tasks covering the following learning outcomes:
• Extract the main events, in continuous, descriptive, explanatory and persuasive text
• Extract detail and inferred meaning from texts
• Identify the different purposes of written texts
• Identify how language is used to support the purpose of texts
• Identify specific points and arguments in texts, showing how they are presented
• Respond to information from a text
• Use organisational features to locate information
• Use secondary sources to assist in understanding meaning
Created to work alongside AIM qualifications Reading unit which is 3 credits. Delivered to SEND students 16+ however can be adapted to suit as needed.
